All good. I have continued to use their services over the past 5 years and most recently have also had the support of Janes & Sam to help in this very difficult time of large rate increases. They advise but also listen to the customer & understand their needs when putting forward options.

James had previously assisted me with 2 Buy-To-Let mortgages and a number of re-mortgages. On this occasion I wanted to raise money against my main residence for a refurbishment.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Absolutely yes: initially a re-mortgage and second charge were organised which, now that building work has been completed, I have been able to re-finance at a lower rate due to the increase in value of my property.
What could they have done better?
Very little. James and his team could not do any more in the face of products being withdrawn at short notice with interest rates rising all the time. Issues with the lending bank were dealt with through his extensive network of contacts and, at times, sheer determination. There dogged persistance eventually got me the product that I wanted.

From start to finish, of the whole process of securing a mortgage. My family have used James as our 'go to' mortgage man for many years, me personally since 2011 when I was in horrible difficulties following a complicated divorce. At that time he arranged a huge bridging loan for me with 6 other family properties put up as collateral. Since then my mortgage needs have always been complex and James has always been there to guide me through them.

This year was the fifth time James has arrange property finance for me. He always comes up with the most elegant, cost effective solution to my complex mortgage needs, often going to extraordinary lengths to do so in order to dig me out of a hole. The man never gives up. He provides the most excellent and genuine personal service, (at time including moral support) & is backed by a strong team. He has deep knowledge of his subjects and the business contacts to go with it. I think he is quite exceptional.

Unexpectedly confronted with Receiver's taking possession of a property, I sought a regulated bridging loan where, due to lending criteria and timescales, I had previously been unable to arrange a residential re-mortgage.

After an initial discussion during which he assessed our options, viability and the absolute urgency of this particular matter, James wasted no time steering us to a very affordable residential mortgage in record time: less than 10 working days from application through decision in principle to offer! 2. Identified from within his network a suitable law firm to assist me through an exceptionally complicated set of legal transactions 3. Remained on call - even at weekends - from application to completion. The legal process was SO complex that despite the offer, exchange and completion took another 5 months. James was there at every step with advice, snake oil and calming words.

I would not use anybody else. Absolutely top drawer advice and commitment to getting the right deal. James is a magician when it comes to complex transactions and non-standard personal circumstances in a world where lenders have become archly conservative. And he certainly knows how to work super hard, seven days a week and always available to make sure a deal gets done. He loves what he does and thrives on pulling a rabbit out of a hat for his clients. My 'rabbit' was gigantic! James completely changed my rather jaundiced view of people who call themselves brokers & agents and I have recommended him to many friends and colleagues.

Even when the mortgage offer was in progress, James rang me to say a new deal had just come up and suggests moving to this now. Another example, James wouldn't just hand over a form for completion, but help me through it and any more technical terms and implications. James genuinely builds a relationship with his client, not merely gathering information to fill out tick box type applications but building a full understanding of your short, medium and longer term plans and hence working a plan to get mortgage products that offer best value to your real personal circumstances and plans. His massive knowledge of the market and trends therein also enable him to offer full financial advice in what has, since the market crash in 2008, become a very specialised market. For my recent (2014) borrowing requirement, I for one have been stunned how much bureaucracy and time wasting has been created by the new 'rules' imposed by the Government. James not only dealt with the lender with unbelievable calm and tenacity (not my personal forte) but also used his personal reputation to persuade the lender that my application was low risk despite their computer systems stating otherwise - which of course saved me money since I would otherwise have had to go to a more expensive lender.

James also has the DipMap qualification which I understand is not compulsory in the industry but which James has gone out of his way to obtain in advance.
