What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Mortgage advice on my first property purchase.

How has Mark Tennant helped you?

Understood my requirements for the mortgage both at the time of purchase and for my future plans. Mark found the right deal deal for me that allowed the future flexibility that I required.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, the first mortgage that Mark arranged for me in 2005 was fit for purpose then and I am still on the same deal now, 12 years later. We regularly review it but there has been no cause to change it yet due to the good deal secured at the time.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My previous financial advisor became part of a huge national organisation and I no longer got the personal, one-to-one help and advice I needed.

How has Mark Tennant helped you?

Before appointing Mark, he looked through my investment portfolio and made various suggestions has to how he would improve it. It had been neglected for several years (by my previous advisors) and I discovered, through Mark, that I was invested in mainly high risk areas. Mark suggested diversifying and rebalancing my portfolio to make it more robust and lower risk and clearly explained the reasons for this recommendation. On my recommendation, my late mother also appointed Mark to manage her portfolio and as a result her final years were secure and worry-free. When she died suddenly, as her executor, I sorted out her estate. Mark helped me immensely by providing the information I needed for obtaining probate and he did a lot of the work in dealing with the different financial institutions and getting the investments transferred. He made a very difficult time much easier for me.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I chose Mark extremely carefully after having had a bad experience with a previous Financial Advisor. My trust in Mark has developed over the past four years and I now rely on him to guide me in all my investment and financial decisions. During more volatile market conditions, my rebalanced and diversified investment portfolio has held its value. Specifically, over the past 15 months, my portfolio has returned me around 20% – a combination of Mark’s considerable expertise and favourable market conditions. I am delighted that, with his guidance, I am now substantially wealthier than I was with my previous advisor.

What could they have done better?

When Mark is with a client, he is totally focussed on them and their requirements. If your appointment is later in the day, Mark is often running late, however he does ring or text to say he's been delayed and is on his way.

When my husband died he was amazing sorting everything out. He made sure i invested correctly to which iam very happy with. Fortunately what Mark had sorted out previously with my husband ensured my family and i could live comfortably.
