What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had the opportunity to transfer out of a (closed) Final Salary Pension Scheme, at what appeared to be a very attractive multiple.

How has Graham Slater helped you?

Graham provided a very balanced view of the pros and cons of leaving the scheme, and modelled various options. Haven then executed the transfer from my employer's scheme into a new provider's retirement account structure.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes - albeit there were initial delays in getting the new structure set up (due tot he provider, not due to Haven). Graham ensured that the provider was chased and that a fair compensation offer was received.

What could they have done better?

The only comment I would pass here is that the provider recommended to me was setting up a new scheme / product, and did not have infrastructure in place to cope with demand. I would have given greater thought to alternative providers had I known this was such a new offering.

I had different pensions from different company schemes I'd had set-up by the various employers and I didn't have a clue where I was up to with them.

I knew Graham from a business network club I attended and was always impressed with the warm, confident way he came across , so I decided to set-up a one2one meeting with him yo discuss my pension situation. After sharing any paperwork and known pensions I had, he explained very clearly where things were but also how he could rectify the situation very quickly and after sharing my needs and goals, he got to work on sorting things out.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely delighted with the outcome. Graham got in-touch with all the various pension plans/schemes and transferred them over to a single company. He also discovered that one of the policies had a surprisingly high transfer value, so it enabled him to transfer a large amount of money I didn't even know i had into the the one place.

What could they have done better?

Graham and his staff are in regular contact, if anything, I'd be more critical of myself for not always making myself available for the reviews they set-up.

Graham evaluated the pensions I had and advised a transfer for the final salary pensions. I found him to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He provided clear and balanced advice and recommended an apporopriate new pension provider after considering my attitude to risk.

The transfer went through very smoothly and more quickly than I was expecting. Graham's assistant provided helpful updates so I was kept well informed through the process.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Approaching retirement.

How has Graham Slater helped you?

We selected three IFA's and chose Graham / Haven. Graham took time to discuss and fully understood our finances and attitude to risk. He then quickly produced a detailed plan which which was clear and demonstrated that he had done a lot of research on our current pensions - including discovering options that other IFA's had not found. Linked to this, he also included associated elements such as investments and IHT planning. In short, he was very professional in his approach and went 'the extra mile'.

It is too early to comment about the outcome as the plan is only just being implemented. All we can say is that everything that was promised in terms of moving things forward has been done exactly as promised.

For us Graham did everything we required / expected.

Previous financial advisor retired and passed his portfolio onto a company I was not happy with and who insisted on trying to sell me only their own products when I wanted whole of market.

How has Graham Slater helped you?

Graham offered clear advice and was able to carry out my instructions quickly. We have regular conversations via email and phone and periodic meetings. Graham is very approachable and gives advice tailored to personal circumstances.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. I feel more in control of my financial decisions than previously. portfolio growth has been good given the volatility of the markets.

What could they have done better?

Needs to provide chocolate biscuits with his coffee. ;-)

I had several pensions and was not sure what I was really entitled to claim.i was receiving letters informing me what my incomes each year would be which I thought where low returns for the amount of money involved.

Yes I can honestly say the out come is far more than I expected.I received my lump sump and I am able to retire when I complete my current project in the next 3 months and retire with a comfortable income.

I needed advice on how best to organise my various upcoming pensions and the ISAs belonging to me and my wife. Graham explained in a thorough and professional manner (and in a way that we could understand) the various options open to us to combine all these sources to produce the best income, based on a level of risk comfortable to us. Following his detailed research, we were able to make informed choices in respect of our future joint income and, following his recommendations, we now have a plan set up. Thanks to Graham's hard work, our future pension income will be much better than we had originally anticipated, and will be reviewed on a regular basis.

Nothing further could be done. Graham is arranging all of the transfers/set ups in plenty of time before my pension age.

After a brief conversation, Graham described all the various work pensions I had picked-up along my career path as something resembling an unkept garden! I thought there was nothing of any great value in any of them, as I'd stopped and started different schemes as I changed jobs, but I agreed to let Graham take a look anyway. I gave him a big stack of a file I'd been hoarding and let him see what could be done. To my amazement Graham not only reduced that pile of a file considerably, but he also pulled all my various stagnant policies together, to work much harder for me in the future. Plus he also unearthed some information on one of my dorment policies which surprisingly had an unusually high transfer value which I gave Graham full permission to transfer, and get that large sum of money (I didn't even know existed) working much harder for me. I can't thank Graham enough for the help and advice he has given and would recommend his services to anyone who finds themselves in a similar position to the one I was in, to let him review and hopefully improve their pension plans. There's no pressure and no sales patter from Graham, just friendly, professional and expert advice.
