What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We wanted to ensure that our savings and pensions were correctly invested.

How has Gregory Whitfield helped you?

We have met with Greg on a number of occasions and each time he has been very approachable and engaging. We wanted guidance on a wide range of personal financial matters; Greg was able to answer all of our questions, no matter how silly we thought they were. He has always been available to answer our many questions during the process, either by phone, email or meeting. We were very pleased with the measured advice he offered us for both investments and pensions. As part of his service, we will be meeting Greg again in six months to review how our new investments are progressing, but are assured that he would be happy to discuss any questions that may arise at any time.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

On the whole it is too early to say how our cash investments are doing but Greg offered excellent advice on pensions which has already improved our future situation.

Greg clarified our aims and reviewed our financial situation fully. Having also identified our risk appetite, he put together various options for us to consider, many of which we had not been aware of, helped us come to decisions and put a plan in place.

We are part way through our long term plan and have achieved what we wanted to by this stage.

The aim was to transfer my pension to a retirement plan where I can achieve my goals and to set up a draw down pension for when I retire. The options were discussed and the draw down option is the option I chose.

I had several separate pensions from previous employment and needed impartial advice on how these should be managed going forward; retain or transfer into new a scheme etc.

Greg analysed each of the separate pensions in terms of returns and benefits; the returns from certain schemes fell short of my expectations and, after identifying my needs and objectives, Greg researched the market and identified an alternative supplier.

Yes, more than happy with Greg's recommendations. Greg was always open in terms of managing expectations, identifying risks and making costs etc clear.

How has Gregory Whitfield helped you?

Greg listened carefully and took great care to scope out what was needed and then deliver the advice requested, first on the phone and then twice in person. I wanted specific advice about a stakeholder pension pot, which Greg reviewed thoroughly, and instigated the agreed actions swiftly and effectively. I fully expect to speak with him again for additional work in the future and am happy to recommend him to others. The only reason for not giving 5 stars for all categories is that I have not yet seen how the new fund performs, & I did not compare his fees with many other advisors, so cannot yet judge, but fees certainly seem fair so far!

Greg had been advising us for some years. He is very reliable inasmuch as he appreciates our situation, accepts our preferences (e.g. ethical) and his investments on our behalf prove rewarding. He is not a sales person but has a well established interest in doing his job well and providing individually relevant services. Whilst he has a good working knowledge of the means and range of opportunities available he is likely to make general suggestions before going away to undertake consultation with others and research. On our behalf he conducted some detailed research which was extensive and must have been a big demand upon his time. We consider his facility to sometimes take time in making his proposals to be highly valued by us.

We are delighted to be supported by him and had we any ideas upon which he could work would have discussed them with him. We some have a concern that the extent he is prepared to go in finding that which is most appropriate to our situation may involve him in work beyond reasonable expectatrions.

Greg goes through each one of my Investments with me at least once a year, he infoms me of what interest amounts I have accumalated over that financial year and also we discuss if we should be changing anything at that time! If I have any problems or queries I can also always telephone and or email him and he promptly assists me.

As i was about to approach retirement i had three pensions one live two dormant, i had no idea how to get the best return from my pension's. The provider only gave advice on their pension plans. So i was advised to get a financial advisor, so a relative suggested Greg Whitfield from (HAVEN IFA LTD). He came to see me and advised me on various options availabel to me. He then came back a week later with a laptop presentation of all my options, we then decided on a drawdown pension which has proved to be an excellent choice. Iwould thoroughly recommend Greg's services to anyone.

Introduced me to a pension plan that should give stability going forward to what was a quite aggressive portfolio since at 60 I could no longer risk any substantial fall in my fund investments. Greg seems to have the right mix of availability and contact. I tend to not check the pension situation on a daily basis like some people as pensions are a long game and I would only worry if I saw the ups and downs on a daily or weekly basis.

Nothing that I am aware of, but me being from Yorkshire you can bet I would have told him if I thought he wasn't performing with my brass !

I was miss- sold a pension by another organisation. Greg has had to work to rebuild my confidence over a period of time. He is perfect for this role as he clearly sets out all the options in a balanced and comprehensive fashion and does so with no hint of pressure. He has done a superb job. I particularly admire the way he worked in the early days, even with a young family, to study and get qualified. So through his eyes I now see a much changed and very professional finance industry. My family has financially benefited over the years from his excellent advice which has included low and higher risk investments. I have therefore been very fortunate and I am confident he will provide superb service. As a bonus he even managed to maximise my compensation package and to invest it soundly in a solid investment which I benefit from every single month. So many many thanks.

What could they have done better?

He has worked from the bottom up and taken time to learn his trade. He is very self aware and in doing so he has made sure he has self adjusted his approach and direction. I am sure he will continue to do this and in consequence feel he will continue to self learn from the interaction with clients. We are not perfect especially as far as putting money away for a rainy day is concerned. Even if we have been foolish, critical that people like Greg are around to understand us comfort us and at least set out options without us feeling embarrassed.
