I had an hour long initial meeting at no charge following which Iain made some enquiries on my behalf regarding pension drawdown. During a follow-up phone call and another short meeting (without charge) Iain provided answers to my queries and suggested that I was now in a position to finalise my arrangements without further input from him. The new pension rules contain many pitfalls for the unwary. I think that discussing your circumstances/plans with an independent professional such as Iain is worthwhile even if you think you understand the the rules and your affairs are straightforward.

How has Iain Johnston helped you?

Iain has provided a service to me and my family that has always been professional, prompt and comprehensive. He follows up every request for help and support very thoroughly and gives advice that is tailored to our real needs. He is refreshingly honest in all his dealings and sets out the benefits of the various options with an emphasis on how they impact our situation. He is prepared to "go the extra mile" to minimise the bureaucracy that inevitably accompanies every financial product transaction and he has provided a first class service as I have transitioned into retirement.

What could they have done better?

I have no suggestions for improvement as I am very satisfied with the service I receive from Iain and his staff.
