Matthew is a supportive and friendly listener. He spent a lot of time familiarising himself with my circumstances and provided comprehensive and practical advice regarding my changing financial circumstances. He was, and still is, willing to come to my home if necessary. He is easy to talk to, patient if more explanation needed, and has a friendly and open manner.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Most definitely. I have an excellent overall plan which covers investments, pensions, inheritance planning, which is reviewed on a regular basis.

What could they have done better?

As far as I am concerned, as a financial adviser I do not think Matthew could do anything better!

A friend recommended Mathew, speaking really highly of Mathew. As I was totally new to this, Mathew explained everything step by step in a language I could understand no jargon. He was happy for me to stop him and ask questions. He explained and advised me where he felt the money would work better for me. He checked I was happy with his advice. In preparation for my retirement I contacted Matthew after recommendation from a colleague for advise on how to best to use my pension 'pot'

How has Matthew Stevens helped you?

Matthew reviewed the options available to me and discussed at depth all the possible ways of using the monies to provide a secure income for my future and retirement. He explained the advantages and disadvantages and the options available such as Annuity v Draw down etcetera and helped me decide on a suitable company. He has always been available to provide on-going advise and we hold annual reviews to ensure that my investments are performing well.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Following Matthews recommendations and advise over the years I have been very happy with the performance of my investments. The fund has performed better than I had hoped for and provided a satisfactory monthly draw-down and still retained its value by careful management.

What could they have done better?

I cannot see anything Matthew could have done better, he is professional and very friendly, highly recommended.

Listens to and hears what I say. Is polite and courteous at all times - as are all the staff I deal with. Takes time to explain what actions he is proposing to take re investments. Is very patient with non-finance savvy person - me.

What could they have done better?

Hard to come up with any ideas on this one. Possibly provide written explanations of his proposals for me to take away. This might be counter productive in my case as I would probably just confuse myself and end up raising numerous unnecessary questions. I think you have to trust your adviser - or find a new one! I would appreciate "one piece of paper" with overall strategy outlined plus an overview of total investment package. Matthew does explain matters very clearly however and the latter suggestion might merely give me enough rope to confuse myself. Further any time I have queries outside of meeting with him he has dealt with them courteously and promptly which is probably best in my case.
