Luella and her team have a holistic approach to financial planning. It's is based around discovering what goals you and your partner have for life and then seeing how these can be achieved. It's a liberating and enjoyable way to approach things. Behind everything is a detailed and rigorous approach to your personal finances but it's all there to support what you want to get out of life. It's revolutionised how we feel about finances and financial advice.

We are moving into a very exciting phase in our lives. Something I never would have thought possible without the help of Luella and her excellent team.

How has Luella Keeley helped you?

In over 20 years of using Luella, she has consistently given very good advice, often at the expense of commissions - for example, she advised me 20+ years ago not to bother agreeing to buy payment protection insurance as it usually wasn't worth the paper it was written on. I took that advice and its probably saved me thousands over the years. She is a really detailed reviewer of policy small print and has often proven that the small print makes the difference between a dud product and a good product for a persons given circumstances. She has also shown to be a very useful friend with regards to pension schemes and 12 years ago set up our scheme which we still run.

What could they have done better?

Hard to tell as every time we have used her advice it has proven good over many years - including Corporate & Personal Pensions, Healthcare, Life Assurance and Employee Benefit policies.

I've been working with Luella for some months now and we're still in the process of completing the overall plan and vision, as my personal circumstances are changing all the time at the moment. The fact that I'm writing 'we' is very indicative of Luella's style and strength for me. Her financial advice and coaching encompass all aspects of my life that have an influence on my financial goal and life style, which is exactly what I was looking for. She has been clear and communicative throughout and it's obvious from the process so far that the outcome and goals for me are her priority rather than pushing a financial plan into place. As a relative newcomer to proper financial planning I have found the service that Luella and her team provide to be personal and professional. I can't yet comment on the outcome of long term investment advice but the commitment to understanding my needs and clarity of financial planning gives me a plan I can follow and understand. I was a little skeptical about the process of life planning at first but it has been a revelation and with Luella's skill and personal commitment I have been able to question what I want to achieve in the future and give some structure to it. Luella's team are always available to answer questions and give advice with a personal service that makes you think you are the only client sometimes.

How has Luella Keeley helped you?

We are relatively new clients, and as such I can only comment on our experience to date. As such, it is too early for me to comment yet, on financial performance relating to any investment advice given. What I can comment on, however, is the difference we have found between the approach to investment advice from Luella Keeley and those of other financial advisors (including large investment firms, smaller independent firms and investment advisors within banks) that we have met and received proposals from. What stands out for me is that Keeleys take the time to understand the clients wishes and requirements in both the medium and the long term, as well as carrying out a detailed assessment of a clients financial position, before recommending a financial strategy. The process is set out very early, but it is acknowldeged that adequate time needs to be spent understanding your situation before making any investment decision. They thoroughly understand the clients as individuals, in order to provide advice that is approriate and tailored specifically for each case. Review notes of our several meetings with Keeleys have always, to date, been 100% accurate, which can not be said for other advisors I have held such discussions with in recent times. I have often wondered how some advisors can be so certain of their recommendations when they fail to accurately take notes of the clients situation or responses. In my experience a full and accurate grasp of the client's situation so often gets pushed to one side by advisors who almost immediately go off at a tangent towards a product they favour, which they know provides them with the financial reward they were seeking themselves. You always feel that Keeleys do put the client first, and they have your interests at heart. You are put at ease by all staff you come into contact with at the firm. They progress at your own pace, explaining each step, and ensuring the client knows exactly what action should be taken and why. Given the thorough approach by Keeleys to date, I am confident that their subsequent investment advice and regular reviews will prove successful.

She brings a clarity of mind to the financial planning process which I have not found elsewhere. Luella is an analytical thinker and a very clear communicator. This means that her financial advice is always specific, relevant and understandable. I have great confidence all the financial advice provided, and the firm looks after all our investments and pensions with a great track record extending over almost all my working life. Luella works at the strategic level and the detailed level at the same time, and also makes it interesting. Luella is also concerned about whole life issues not just money, therefore the sessions we have are very relevant to our everyday lives, and help to keep our financial planning supporting the important things we want to do, rather than the other way round. She is very skilled as a life planner, drawing out the important issues and helping to clarify and plan ahead. She also celebrates success in a very positive way. Luella Keeley heads a very competent firm and I have complete confidence in their ability to handle all aspects of my affairs. I have very little understanding of financial matters and I find that they care enough to take their time explain in simple terms their recommendations and give me options to what they think is best for my future.
