What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Realising that I would benefit from professional advice to get the best from my savings.

How has Stuart Dewin helped you?

He listened to my concerns carefully and uncritically and then gave clear and positive advice. I had been anxious about the visit and, really, I need not have worried at all. Stuart was very easy to talk to.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

A very definite yes, I just wish I had gone to see Stuart sooner.

What could they have done better?

I honestly cannot think of anything at all he could have done better. I do not have a lot of money but Stuart gave the attention and care to my situation I would have expected a mega-millionaire to get!

Nearing Retirement and desire to transfer some pension funds to SIPP.

How has Stuart Dewin helped you?

Stuart was very helpful in explaining the rules around pension, helping my wife and I understand the risks of each option and to assist in the transfer to the SIPP. Stuart also sought to match our risk appetite to the appropriate SIPP strategy (of reducing volatility and managing returns in a appropriate way for our circumstances.) Stuart has been very helpful in providing cash flow analysis and estimates of income and expenditure to help us better manage our outgoings. Stuart also was very helpful in updating us on current laws, rules and to confirm the investment strategy is still appropriate for our circumstances. Stuart is always very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for him. He is very professional and always there to help us.

I wanted to put more into pensions following changes over rules to accessing them post retirement.

Stuart advised me on rules around contributions and draw down, on plans for future contributions, on creating an appropriate wrapper for the investments, and on identifying a suitable mix of investments to achieve my desired risk profile.

AVC's being moved due the Government's relaxing of the regulations. Converted the fund into a 'draw down fund'.

I trust Stuart to advise me on all my financial planning and investments. He has considerable knowledge and professional integrity. During a very difficult financial period he has protected me against loss, stabilised my investments and is now achieving healthy growth. Stuart aways takes time to explain the current situation and possible future trends and developments. He doesn't 'blind you with science' and is easy to understand. I am of a different generation to Stuart, yet I am able to talk freely with him about any matter, knowing he is absolutely trustworthy. Stuart will always remain as my financial advisor.

Our financial concerns and investments have been managed by Stuart Dewin of Questa Chartered Financial Planners for a number of years. We have always found that the advice and subsequent investments have been very sound and produced excellent returns. The six stage planning and review process is very thorough, taking into account a full overview of our financial commitments, lifestyle and spending as well as our attitude to risk. Mr. Dewin then prepares a suggested action plan which he explains carefully and at a level which is appropriate to our level of knowledge of the financial and investment markets. He is always happy to take time to ensure that we fully understand the proposal and the possible implications .Over the last few years, the return achieved on our investments has always been significantly higher than the sector benchmarks. Mr Dewin has also been responsible for advising on and managing a Discretionary Trust Fund set up on our late motherÂ’s death. This was a complicated issue, due to a number of factors, but again, the advice and returns gained have been excellent. He has demonstrated a very thorough knowledge of Trust Fund regulations. On a personal level, we have found that Mr. Dewin to be very friendly and that he takes a genuine interest in ourselves and other members of the family. He is very approachable and works very hard on our behalf. We value his services and totally trust his judgement in handling our affairs.

Following the death of my husband I felt inadequate to cope with the many and various investments he had made. Stuart was extremely considerate and kind in reassuring me about investments for the future and how best to invest to preserve capital for my family. He also reassured me that I could enjoy the money left and use cash for holidays, cars, furniture, any other items without fear of running into debt. Stuart contacts me regularly and asks if I have any problems and is always ready to help. I find Stuart to be a well-groomed, pleasant and patient person who always deals with any questions I ask.

Stuart excels in his customer centric approach. He is always prepared to discuss different scenarios and tailors his advice and services to specifically meet the clients circumstances, to a far greater extent than any other individual or organisation that I have worked with. Given the relatively complex nature of my financial plans Stuart manages to explain in a simple and straight forward way the different pros and cons to various investment options. At each step I have full confidence and trust in Stuart and the recommendations he presents. Finally the six step process that Questa employs together with the scenario mapping software is both clear, concise and very effective. I have no hesitation in recommending both Stuart and Questa to any organisation or individual and I genuinely look forward to my meetings with Stuart who has become a trusted and very valued advisor.

There is very little that I can think of that needs improving however perhaps a simple monthly or bi monthly excel spreadsheet update showing the investments by sector and the growth V slat period would be an interesting and useful document.
