I had just cashed in an old investment policy i had and wanted to re-invest it.

I have known Steve for many years and know many people who invest with him. Also I used him to arrange a mortgage about 18 years ago and was happy with his service then so decided to get advice off him for my current investment.

I view it as a long term investment and it is probably just breaking even at the moment but I am not unduly worried by that given the present market conditions.

I recently became self employed & needed to sort out various frozen pensions & look for decent saving accounts.

He went through a vast amount of paperwork I had on frozen pension plans I have & wrote to all the companies to find out what was actually in the plans. He then organised everything & arranged an investment plan which I can view online & I know exactly how my pensions & investments are performing.

Steve arrived on time for the meeting we had arranged at our home . During our initial free session , he asked questions about the state of our finances and offered sensible advice about the direction we should be taking with them , including items I was not aware of .The decision to pay for a more rigorous study was left to ourselves without any pressure whatsoever .

Having an economics degree I have a good grasp of the area, but having Steven's help is fantastic as his insight and knowledge go far beyond my capabilities. Having the online portal is also very helpful too as I can access information about my portfolio from almost anywhere. All in all, I am extremely happy with Steven and the service provided.

Steve took the time to understand my circumstances, I did a questionnaire to identify my attitude to risk and I was comfortable that I was being sensibly advised. He explained the charging regime to me and I know that I never pay money via his company, but always directly to the investment organisations. I have on-line access to my portfolio so I can review it whenever I want and Steve will answer any questions that I have, usually on a same day basis. He helped me see that I had been poorly advised previously and was instrumental in the successful recovery of my full investment, with compensation from my original investment advisers. He has since helped me with a serious financial issue within my family, meeting and talking with my relatives on my behalf. I trust his judgement and have no qualms in recommending his company to others.

What could they have done better?

I would probably like a once a year face to face meeting, but I have not pushed for this because I live at the other end of the country to my adviser. The benefit to me would be that I would have to prepare for the meeting by fully reviewing everything, it's so easy to just drift along month by month.
