What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Our previous financial adviser relocated to another area and thus we an alternative and readily accessible adviser was sought.

How has Adrian Broughton helped you?

We considered that Adrian understood our requirements, specifically the level of risk we were prepared to accept with our capital, explained all that was asked and suggested a much wider spread of funds for our investment. This, together with maximising our ISA allowance has made us feel more comfortable with the investment we have made with our capital.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

The use of a system where all information is in one place, readily accessible on line and providing daily updates suits our requirement. Also, the fund recommendations made and implemented have provided a better rate-of-return than expected.

What could they have done better?

The formal annual review with Adrian provides ample opportunity to discuss any 'improved ways of working' and therefore there is nothing that we can add.

How has Adrian Broughton helped you?

With only 1 year of working with Adrian Broughton this is difficult to answer. However, from our initial enquiry and first meeting Adrian has been most approachable, easy to work with and actioned our requests in a prompt manner. On line access to our investment portfolio has been provided. At a 9 month portfolio review meeting, Adrian recommended some changes to our portfolio and once agreed actioned promptly. A further review to our investment portfolio will be actioned no later than summer 2015.

What could they have done better?

For us, the prime role of the advisor is to ensure that the financial advice / advised portfolio package is in-line with our specified level of risk, and that the financial return on that investment significantly outweighs the incurred costs. A one year period is too short a time to assess this and a further period of working with Adrian Broughton is necessary before objective / constructive suggestion can be made.
