I felt uneasy about some financial and wealth planning advice I had received for my retirement from my financial advisor – I had been advised to put my life savings into’ tax free’ bonds. I went to Justin for a second opinion. In ‘lay-woman’s’ terms he carefully explained to me why this was not suitable for my circumstances. In an in depth free consultation he identified my lifestyle and hopes for my future, and then showed me better ways to invest my money for both now and the long term future. He has some impressive presentation skills and he took time to always ensure that I understood what he was saying and alerted me to the potential financial risks. He is highly qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner and holds the the new British Standard BS8577 which ensures advice is delivered with my best interests in mind. I was lucky to find and also trust him. I have now transferred my services to him and highly recommend him.

My husband and I could not recommend the Finanical Life Planning programme we undertook with Justin King highly enough. As two professional individuals we were under a naive assumption that we should be able to take stock of our current situation and put together our dreams and plans for the future without the need of an independent or professional advisor. However, using the guidance and expert advice of a professional financial life planner has taken us so much further along a path we actually want to travel than we could have ever hoped to do ourselves. Taking the time out to contemplate significant life decisions, discussing these in an open and objective forum and having these discussions supported by expert financial guidance has been invaluable. How has Justin King helped you?

I have been an investor for many year before Investing with MFP and the stark difference I noticed was that MFP work closely with me to ensure that I get the right investment for my particular needs. Eventually it boils down to a matter of trust and I am pleased to say that the relationship is excellent and I am comfortable having a substantial amount of investment being handled by them.

Myself and my family have been using Justin King of MFP Wealth Management for over 10 years. Not only has he given all of us sound advice over the years, but he also crewed the LifeBoat at Mudeford. Being a keen sailor he knows all about risk and how to avoid it.We have entrusted him with all our family affairs, pensions, retirement, inheritance etc etc. Being fee based we know that he is not trying to sell us anything. Both myself and wife are NHS doctors on retirement, so having worked towards this we have now found someone to manage our affairs, with complete confidence, rather than using a big impersonal bank etc. I whole heartedly recommend Justin King of MFP Wealth Management.

We found MFP Wealth Management through the recommendation of Which? magazine. Justin has been a great help to both me and my husband in planning for our retirement. First he gathered together information about all the different strands of income that we've collected over the years and provided us with a great summary. Alongside this he spent a lot of time with us talking about our lifestyles and aspirations. Then he brought the sets of information together to show us different scenarios to consider before we made our decisions. He's charming and knowledgeable and so far has provided us with exactly what we need.

What could they have done better?

Have fresh coffee available? Seriously though, it's been hard to fault our experiences to-date.

Perhaps the most important thing that Justin does well is that he does what he says he will do, and if for some reason he can't, he explains why - in my experience this is all too rare! His enthusiasm for his subject is clear to see, he does not simply apply a one size fits all solution but does genuinely seek to understand our requirements and will then seek out appropriate solutions.

Genuinely - I don't think there's anything I could really suggest. When we touched on subjects which weren't necessarily Justin's direct area of expertise (tax advice), he immediately referred us to a reputable tax advisor who we have now been working with for the last 18 months and are very happy with.
