My circumstances had changed and I was reconsidering my long term financial situation. I was questioning if the performance of the products I had bought in the past could be improved upon.

How has Colin McGugan helped you?

Colin conducts an appointment in a relaxed way, which I found very helpful. I did not feel rushed or that I was out of my depth in the way he explained things. He assessed my situation, age and future needs, and my attitude to financial risk. Colin explained transparency of charges which would be made for his services. He established how much I could comfortably invest, and checked that that left me with sufficient funds for day to day living and funds to cope with any unforeseen event. Colin outlined the type of investment he would recommend, and did some researching before seeing me again, when he gave me print-outs of funds he advised and checked I was happy with his recommendations.

One of my concerns in involving a financial adviser was that some advisers are tempted to show more interest in their financial gain by presenting a plan that is structured to ensure they receive the maximum financial benefit rather than the client. Due to the professional way in which Colin created and presented the plan ensured we have had a very sound working relationship over the last nine years.

The original plan was put in place and adjustments have been made when necessary to take account of any change in circumstances.
