Beieve it or not, we saw an advertising board outside his address and decided to get advice. we booked an appoiintment and chatted aboiut various financial matters. We instantly clicked. Ray Martin asked us what we wanted to get out them, our attitude to risk, and had arranged their sale and investment in unit trusts on a safe and easy to access platform. He reviews this annually, bearing in mind both its performance and our needs. He has also helped us create a family trust so that we can pass on money to our children without it being part of our estate.

We were looking for a financial advisor to prepare for retirement and general financial stability for our future. We saw an advertisement outside his premises and decided to arrange a consultation. The moment we met him we felt totally relaxed and by his manor and knowledge we knew that he was the right man for us. We haven’t looked back since.

I had the very good fortune to be inherited by Ray Martin, Four Seasons FP, when my former financial advisor retired several years ago.

In the ensuing years Ray has steered me through the pensions minefield, helped me with my long-term financial planning, investments etc. Each year we have an annual review and talk about what’s been happening, what’s new, any changes needed. Currently we’re at the inheritance planning stage.

Yes indeed, I'm relieved and delighted. Ray is very good at explaining things and making recommendations that I understand so I always feel clear about my financial options after a meeting with him. I had invested in a range of savings products at different times and in different ways. They had not been reviewed regularly. Ray consolidated and sold them where necessary, asked us what our aims and attitudes to risk were.

After selling and reinvesting and making a trust for the children so that we could minimise IHT, The important thing is that he annually reviews the basket (half dozen or so) investments so that it represents the right proportion of risk, and also is able to reinvest some into those that represent growth outside risk.

Yes our investments represent the level of risk that we are willing to take, they grow satisfactorily, and meet our investment objectives.

I am not clear what they refers to here. If it refers to investments they have done well. I would like to be been assured with more evidence that they were all ethical, and sustainable. Perhaps trusts should have to list the ten largest holdings rather five.

I had been fortunate enough to have been reasonably successful, whilst managing a business, but found looking after my personal affairs suffering from time constraints. The solution was to find a company that could advise my fellow directors and myself with what opportunities there were for our future wellbeing. We had a number of pension policies and a variety of investments that needed to be sorted out ready for our retirement.

How has Ray Martin helped you?

We didn’t really know what to expect from a Financial Adviser. We assumed that he would simply advise us where to get the best annuity deals for our pensions and give some general investment advice. How wrong we were. Instead, Ray took us right back to basics. He made us carefully consider what we really wanted to achieve from our retirement years. He assessed our attitude to financial risks and, taking this into account, explained the options open to us. He then produced a comprehensive long term financial strategy showing how we could achieve our goals. Since then, we have met Ray on a number of occasions to review progress and discuss any necessary adjustments to our Financial Plan. In addition, Ray has always made himself available to guide and reassure us through the financial uncertainties arising as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Retirement. We needed specific advice regarding Pensions, and decided that a full review of all our finances would also be appropriate.

How has Ray Martin helped you?

Ray undertook a full review of our savings and our incomes. He then developed an action plan for our consideration. After agreeing the way forward, Ray and his team arranged various transfers and investments. He now keeps a regular eye on these and advises any changes deemed necessary. A formal documented review is undertaken annually. Ray and his team are always approachable, very friendly and responsive. They take time to understand and deal with any concerns we have.

Considering the effects of Brexit and Corvid-19 and the parliamentary and press scaremongering, one would have expected a sharp decline in investment. This has not been the case with regard to our portfolio. Martin explains things in an easy way to understand, and is always willing to answer any questions that you may have. When Martin does not have the answer he will go and find out and come back to you. I have never had any issues with Martin as a financial advisor and would recommend him to others.

We had a number of pension policies and a variety of investments that needed sorting out ready for our retirement.

How has Ray Martin helped you?

We didn't really know what to expect from a Financial Adviser. We assumed that he would simply advise us where to get the best annuity deals and give some general investment advice. How wrong we were. Ray took us right back to basics. He made us carefully consider what we really wanted to achieve from our retirement years. He assessed our attitude to financial risks and, taking this into account, he explained the options open to us. He then prepared a comprehensive long term financial strategy that would enable us to achieve our goals.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We have only been with Ray for just over a year so it is still early days. However, to date we are very pleased with how things are progressing. Most importantly though, having Ray on board has allowed us to start to really enjoy our retirement in the stress-free knowledge that our finances are for the first time being properly and professionally managed and monitored on our behalf.

Yes I have. He has invested very wisely and there has been about a 5% increase every year. He has also regularly explained what he has been doing and the responses that have resulted. He has used graphs as well to demonstrate the fluctuations that have occurred.

For my wife and myself, we do not believe anyone else would have been any better than Ray--he listened to our queries; explained what was happening; gave answers that we fully understood and followed any requests we had about the shares he may have suggested.
