What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We need to borrow cash to assist in the purchase of investment property, and the advice we got from banks and building societies only relates to their products which were not always completely suitable.

How has Peter Marriott helped you?

Peter has a most impressive knowledge of the mortgage market and has been able to find products that suited our requirements.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Peter has to date achieved the required result.

What could they have done better?

As recorded above our requirements have been supplied, the information relating to the products given in a language we can understand, therefore at this point in time it is difficult to identify improvements.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Being self employed we were looking for particular mortgage products that are not readily available on the high street or not necessarily advertised as such.

How has Peter Marriott helped you?

Peter & his team shared with us a wealth of knowledge and helped us source products that were exactly what we needed and walked us through step by step all of the necessary paperwork ensuring all applications were correct ensuring speedy results.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We saw a house that we would have liked to own. Now we do!! Peter and his team have also helped in offering further mortgage advice regarding another property & we will always seek their advice when the situation arises.

What could they have done better?

I don't see how it all seemed pretty perfect. They took the time to understand our needs and provide provided quality advice until we had achieved our goals. Thank you Peter & Team

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Having my own company, for me using a mortgage adviser to secure a mortgage proved beneficial as I do not have a traditional monthly salary/pay structure. In the past I have found dealing directly with mortgage lenders is somewhat fraught as – in my experience – they are geared towards the traditional monthly salaried customers and if you are not the process becomes very protracted and time consuming.

How has Peter Marriott helped you?

Peter has secured a few investment buy to let mortgages for me now, each time the process was quick and stress free.

Yes.

What could they have done better?

Peter has secured 4 buy to let mortgages for me so far so I am happy with his working methods.

Peter has found us some great deals, nothing was too much trouble. He makes the whole process seamless and easy and cuts out a lot of the work involved had we tried to do it ourselves. He explains everything and takes the time to understand what it is we want. Fantastic service.

I wanted a professional to advise me on the best possible products available in the market.

How has Peter Marriott helped you?

Peter went through my circumstances and thoroughly worked out my needs. He then worked tirelessly to match my requirements with the products that were available and affordable. He left no stone unturned for me in his search.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. Absolutely. He found a brilliant product for me and I have used him twice; both times he got it right for me.

What could they have done better?

There is nothing that I would say he could have done better. Once he knew what I was looking for he searched hard to find it and spent a lot of time explaining the options to me before I decided to go ahead with a mortgage organised by him.

What could they have done better?

There are no points I could recommend to improve his services. Accurate and prompt service always. Although a small charge is made to start any application, which I except, but feel this could reduced or returned once the application has been successful !

How has Peter Marriott helped you?

Peter Marriot has secured mortgages for three house purchases for me in the last five years, firstly a family home in 2009, and a subsequent move in 2014, and also a buy-to-let in 2012. I have my own business and this can be problematic when dealing directly with high street mortgage lenders. Peter was recommended to me in 2009 when the banks were not lending. I had been having a very difficult time dealing with my then lender Santander directly who were asking for endless accounts and paperwork which was frustrating and very time consuming. The weeks and then months were ticking by and I was at my witÂ’s end and stood to lose the house I wanted to buy. I gave up trying to deal with the bank through frustration and contacted Peter following a personal recommendation. In my first meeting Peter assessed my situation and assured me the mortgage was attainable. He explained what we needed to do and he knew exactly what paperwork etc was needed to fulfil the lenders requirements. From that initial meeting with Peter I had a mortgage in place within two weeks. I returned to Peter in 2012 to secure a buy-to-let mortgage and again in 2014 for a mortgage for a house move and again, in both cases the process was simple, stress free and Peter just got the job done very quickly. Peter is precise, focused and organised and he knows exactly what paperwork, documentation, accounts etc are required by the mortgage lenders. Peter also makes what is an intrinsically stressful process virtually stress free.

How has Peter Marriott helped you?

My adviser helps me choose which mortgage product is best for my current purchase/situation. Always helpful, professional and friendly. I only pay for the services once my deal has completed. He always helps me to work out the cost of the repayments, explains how he makes the calculations and how his fees work. He also helps me sort out insurance.

What could they have done better?

It would be really helpful if my adviser would call me when a better deal comes along, so for example if I'm on a variable or fixed rate it would be nice to get a call to say "if you switched to this mortgage it would cost you £X in fees but you would save £X over the next X period of time.

Peter has a tendancy to ask the same question over again (like my age at next birthday) - perhaps he could jot the response down to prevent the need to ask questions.
