What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My partner and I were first time buyers who really had no idea what we were doing. After hearing a glowing review about Ellie from a friend, the choice of who to ask for the role of mortgage advisor became easy. Choosing Ellie was the best decision we made.

Ellie advised me on all available options to be as a first-time buyer, including the possibility of buy-to-let. She took detailed information from me and provided information on the help to buy schemes, mortgage payments, budgeting, life cover, income protection, interest rates - and ensured she gave points to note, downsides and other information I needed to make an informed decision. More importantly, Ellie was the main point of contact and reassurance for my property purchase; she took me through step by step and repeated any information I needed to consolidate my understanding of the process. She liaised on my behalf to solicitors, estate agents, and insurance companies, as well as the lenders. I felt she had my back, she stood up for me and encouraged me to drive forward with the purchase where things felt uncertain or stressful. She didn't just provide a service, she supported me through the whole process. We were recommended Ellie by our Mortgage Broker for Life Insurance and she was absolutely fantastic! I cannot recommend her highly enough.

How has Ellie Macdonald helped you?

The level of advice she gave us, the time she spent on the phone going through all the different policies and the detailed information she gave about everything was phenomenal. If we didn't understand something; no problem, she knew the ins and outs of all types of insurance policies and explained it all to us in a way we could understand. Thanks to Ellie, we were able to feel confident in the Life Insurance Policy we chose and had no doubts at all in the decisions we made. Ellie even reviewed our Life Policies at the time to ensure we weren't already on a good policy. If we were, she would have advised us to stay put. As it happens, turns out we could've been paying a lot less, so she helped us choose the right policy for us.
