What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I wanted to invest my money in order to grow substantially in the next 5 years, to be able to afford a deposit on a property. I also wanted to look into longer term savings in the form of personal pension pots, in order to have a comfortable retirement later on in life.

How has Jayna Shah helped you?

Jayna explained all the different saving products very clearly to me and made, what is usually a daunting financial decision, very simple and enticing to me. In each of our meetings so far, she has been very informative and has explained the investment process in a lot of detail, and suggested a product well tailored to my financial situation. She has been extremely helpful and I am so happy with my decision to invest with her company.

As I have just opened the savings account it is still very early days to see any outcomes, however the predicted outcomes outlaid in my previous meetings with Jayna have been very positive.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My employer closed it's DB pension scheme and transferred active members to a DC arrangement. Due to my length of services and transfer value of the fund, I wanted to see if it would be worth my while transferring out to another provider. In addition, I had a personal pension that wasn't, in my opinion, performing very well.

How has Jayna Shah helped you?

Jayna analysed my circumstances to see whether transferring my occupational pension would be in my best interests. We came to the conclusion that, at the moment, it would not be in my best interests and that we should look at it again in a few years. She also analysed whether it would be beneficial to transfer my personal pension and have decided that there is benefit in doing so.

Jayna initially undertook an in-depth review the overall financial circumstances to determine both eligibility and reasons for transferring from the DB scheme. She remained neutral throughout this process, regularly checking that I understood all of the pros and cons of the potential decisions for my future retirement as a result of transferring out or staying in the DB scheme. She was also very clear that it would not be her that took the final decision as this would need to be approved by the compliance team.

Yes. Completely. Jayna's professionalism and openness throughout the process continually reinforced my trust and respect for her and the team at St James's Place Partnership.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. Jayna was clear at the start that the process would take time and require an in-depth review for what could be one of the biggest financial decisions that me and my family may ever make. We have been receiving financial advice from Jayna for a number of years, so she was the obvious person to ask when my wife and I wanted to invest some money following the sale of a flat.

How has Jayna Shah helped you?

Jayna advised us on the most tax efficient way to invest for the medium to long term. She explained to us the different levels of risk associated with different investment funds and we chose a portfolio that suited us.

We are happy that the investments have been made efficiently and promptly. There is no further outcome yet, because it is too early to say what the returns will be from these recent investments.

I have been looking to invest capital and took meetings with various financial advisors.

How has Jayna Shah helped you?

Jayna kindly offered me two meetings, with no obligation, in order to discuss my financial situation and to suggest a plan forward based on my goals and expectations. The level of detail was impressive and I felt very comfortable with the whole process. I had been in touch with quite a few financial advisors and found Jayna to be the most involved so we arranged a third meeting and I was welcomed on board. I was also offered a reduction of the percentage fee.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, very much so. I have detailed documents, access to an online account where I can see all my investments and access to financial advice if I so need it.

What could they have done better?

Whilst I have had to think out of the box here, perhaps a new printer may have saved some time.
