We originally spoke with Chris about setting up a SSIP/SSAS Pension scheme, off the back of the good work that he and his team undertook for us, we have then continued to use Seventy for numerous services ranging from personal mortgage applications to corporate insurance schemes.

I was looking for a new advisor.

When I first started with 70FP, I made a list of goals and aspirations. Now, I have been with Chris for 10 years, being one of his very first clients when he became Independent. Chris has continually and massively delivered on these goals on a consistent basis, year after year. Even, in the present turbulent financial climate, he still enhances my projections.

When I first started with Chris, to be blunt my financials were in a total mess and disarray. I didn't even think that they were even capable of being remedied however Chris did take up the challenge and he has dramatically turned things around for me. As he is one of the few Independent financial advisors who is a CHARTERED financial planner he was able to give me more bespoke advice rather than just picking funds out from the bag. In this regard he has managed to offer me bespoke advice on many different aspects such as retirement planning, pensions, my NHS superannuation scheme, inheritance tax and these are just some of the benefits of using an independent financial planner.

My previous investments with a Wealth management firm called Full Circle Ltd were one of the biggest mistakes I ever made and I literally lost many thousands of pounds as a result of their inadequate investments.

How has Chris Riley helped you?

Once I decided, "enough is enough" with the previous Wealth management firm who lost me many thousands of pounds, I spent 3 months looking for the right financial advisor and had in my mind, 3 different new advisors, one of which was Chris Riley.I initially had a phone call with Chris Riley and a subsequent 1 to 1 face meeting. Right from the outset, he never placed me under any pressure as to how he could assist me. Meeting Chris Riley was one of my best decisions I made in 2014 at a difficult time in my life.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Due to the turmoil that my previous Wealth managers had created, Chris Riley started the process to first limit any further damage to my savings and secondly he managed to claw back some of the very heavy losses without leaving me open to risks investments.

What could they have done better?

This is a difficult question for me to answer because there is literally absolutely nothing that I could criticize Chris Riley and his team with. He is always there for you and he only cares what is in the best interests of his client.

Chris offers a holistic approach to advice - he assesses all aspects of your planning and is happy to help with everything, even as far as will writing. Having done basic financial advice exams myself I was very aware of the role that an IFA should take in a clients planning and Chris certainly has fulfilled my expectations. He gives skilled advice and has worked patiently with some very unusual circumstances regarding my planning. He is well qualified and highly recommended.

How has Chris Riley helped you?

We first met Christopher 6 years ago and since, Christopher has done a great job of looking after our savings and pension planning. We agreed during our early meetings regular updates and Christopher has always met this commitment. He understood our objectives during our initial meetings and since, he has been pre-emptive in his recommendation for changes in respect of the funds we invest into and in terms of our savings and investment approach as our family and financial situations have changed over the last 6 years. His advice is clear and we never leave a review meeting confused or with unanswered questions. The knowledge and awareness Christopher examplifies during our meetings has always impressed us and we find Christopher both credable and professional. We have advocated Christopher for the past 6 years and will continue to do so. I first met Mr. Riley at the beginning of 2012. He spoke to my wife and I in terms which were easily understandable. He has always been patient in giving his advice and we have never been left with any doubts as to what would be happening with our investment or what level of fees would be charged. How has Chris Riley helped you?

Now well into our retirement, my husband and I realised that the investments we had accumulated over the years needed some research in order to ensure that we were getting the best from them to provide for our needs in old age. Chris has spent so much time with us, both on home visits and telephone discussions. He has an excellent knowledge of the financial markets and has the ability to explain the pros and cons of his recommendtions. Nothing is too much trouble for him, he is very approachable and we know that we can ring him anytime to discuss any problems or concerns. Naturally, it is early days and the proof of his extenvive efforts are yet to come, but we are confident that we have chosen the right person for our particular needs.

How has Chris Riley helped you?

I was completely unsure about what to expect from a financial adviser, but Chris was recommended to me by a good friend. He was very approachable and friendly and really "put me at ease". He took the time to clearly explain his charging structure from the outset and, as an independent adviser, made me feel he had my best interests at heart. He has a really good way of explaining all the financial jargon in an easy to understand way. I would definitely recommend him to anyone would is on the hunt for a financial adviser (as I already have done with other members of my family!)
