Scott called me very soon after I requested help with some questions on IHT. He introduced himself to my satisfaction, quickly understood my questions and after checking some reference documentation, that he subsequently made available to me, provided clear answers. He then checked that I was aware of other aspects that would allow the executors of my estate to minimise IHT liability. I would have no hesitation on consulting him further on IHT planning. Final salary opt out that had gone seriously wrong with my previous advisor. Funds awaiting investment for over 6 months as a result. Due to unique personal circumstances, I needed a broad, long term view on my options as well as the initial reinvestment in a SIPP.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

The minefield of pension references and the mixture of pensions we had over the years. Scott provides us with a clear understanding of these and simplifies the outcomes whenever possible.

How has Scott Gallacher helped you?

Scott breaks everything down into elements of life which are pertinent later in your years. There is no 'looking back' and everything is focused on the future and the 'best' place to be considering all options. His advice brings a sense of 'calm' to my life, however, I'm still aware of the risks where investments are involved.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

My pension is in a great place. We are currently looking at my wife and early retirement. Scott is providing us with some thought provoking options to take on board for an important decision to be be made. Considering the outcome I've had, I can't see an issue looking forward.

What could they have done better?

I'm not sure if things could be better considering the global issues we currently face. I do see a number of other financial offerings which are tempting at about 8% or more but can't see that being sustained for a long term, but they are tempting and I would like to hear more from my advisor regarding the pros/cons of such offers. Particularly if the rates are tied/locked in for a fixed period and no penalties apply.

We was having difficulty in completing and collating our pensions. Prudential was being extremely difficult in providing us with the correct information and releasing our pension fund that we had. Was very impressed with Scott who was easy to talk to and listened attentively to what my requirements were.At no time did I feel in anyway pressured . Scott has an excellent knowledge of finance and I am sure that many could benefit from having him as their advisor.

I found my first meeting with Scott very informative and interesting. He listened carefully to my circumstances and questions and explained all of my options in detail. When asked for advice he gave it without hesitation and at no time did I feel under any pressure. Our meeting ended with me saying that I would give careful consideration to everything we had discussed and me informing him that I trusted him.
