What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

As a self-employed person I wanted help managing my pension, plus long term investments arising from sale of our business.

How has Philip Adams helped you?

By assessing both our finances and attitude to risk, Phil has helped to maintain a good, reliable return on our investments as well as advising the best way to maximise long term income from my pension fund. He is always there at the end of the phone (or Skype) with solid advice to explain things in plain English. He also keeps us informed regularly about progress and upcmoing issues that may be of relevance for HMRC etc.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes. The investments have maintained a steady return which, in these straitened times of low interest rates, has been better than expected.

What could they have done better?

A hard one, because you don't know what you don't know. Perhaps less paper, more online communications, but it's not a critical point.

we had savings to invest.

How has Philip Adams helped you?

He visited our home, talked through the options, asked what we hoped to achieve - time scales etc. He also evaluated how much risk my wife and I individually were prepared to take - we both came out as moderate risk takers. He explained that our investments could go down as well as up and emphasized that stocks and shares portfolios should be viewed as medium to long term investments. He visits us every year and is always available by phone.

Very much so!.

What could they have done better?

We've never had any problems with Philip. He always listens to what we say and is very likable and we trust him.

An existing pension fund that was poorly managed.

How has Philip Adams helped you?

Philip found me a new pension plan with a far better structure and outcome. He also took care of the transfer of my old pension into the new scheme.

Yes. My pension plan is now healthy and growing even without additional payments.

What could they have done better?

I don’t think Philip could have done any better. He has maximised all that I had and continues to advise me as to my best course for the future.

My previous financial adviser was retiring.

Financial advice regarding my present pension(s) and excellent advice regarding long term investment of which we are extremely impressed with. All advice explained in a manner that myself and the wife could understand. He fully understtod our long term aims as I am fast approaching retirement age. Most importantly for us is that he understood that our objective at our time of life is retirement funds and accessibility.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

The advice we recived regarding our pensions has served us well. Our long term investment is growing nicely. This type of investment we could not have had available to us without his excellent advice.

What could they have done better?

There really is no negative aspect that I can point to. Phil explained everything, kept us fully informed during and after the investment had been arranged and has always made himself available at the end of the telephone. Regrdless of whether I contact him or not he always gets in contact every 12 months to keep us 'in the loop' which is very much appreciated.

Philip seems a nice chap so far. He has given us some advice on our pensions and is looking into out options. We have not discussed charges as yet as the first hour is free. No doubt he week trek us his charges if we decide to use his services.

Philip Adams has presented good advice to me for two years. He is as solid as a rock, available when I want to speak to him and usually knows the answers to my questions. When he doesn't know the answer he always gets back to me promptly after he has had time to research on my behalf with an answer to help me make a decision. Philip does a good job and always goes the extra mile.

What could they have done better?

Philip is dedicated to being a good IFA and keeps me updated with changes in the law and with what is going on in the pension world. He contacts me by phone and email quite regularly and I consider him a good friend to me and my finances.

He listens well and takes on our wishes. He is prepared to argue when he thinks we are making less than totally sound decisions. He points out opportunities we may not have considered and explains the advantages well. He is very efficient in carry out the paper work and all is done in good time. He is never late for an appointment.

It's difficult to point to anything that Philip could do better. He is so much better than other advisers we have had in the past it's a trial to know what else is possible.
