I needed tailored advice on taking equity release in unusual circumstances.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I needed an IFA to help in pre-retirement planning. I am planning to retire in the next 5 years and have complicated pension arrangements from several employers and funds with enormous variation in peformance. I needed to understand my situation fully and plan for retirement with confidence.

How has Gareth Reynolds helped you?

Gareth was very friendly and easy to understand from the outset. He clearly explained where i was now, what he could do for me, and what his fees were for the work he would undertake. I decided to engage him to 1)Fully research my various pension funds, and understand why they perform differently. 2)Advise on the pros and cons of consolidating some funds and leaving others alone. 3) Prepare a cash flow for me and my wife to plan my retirement options based on my risk preferences and income needs. He has explained everything clearly to me at each stage.

Gareth prepared a very comprehensive report with various options for my complex arrangements, pros and cons of different scenarios, recommendations and reasons for them, and cash flow for different scenarios. I have decided to follow all his recommendations now, and will be engaging his services again upon retirement.

Finding myself out of work late in life, I wanted to know if my pension would enable me to retire early and continue to provide me with a suitable pension going forward. I needed expert advice on available financial products and services and a detailed financial plan. I had meetings with several IFA's before selecting Reynolds wealth management. Gareth immediately understood the advice I needed and explained the process in a clear and concise way.

How has Gareth Reynolds helped you?

Gareth took the time to fully understand my financial circumstances and pension hopes and expectations. We also discussed my attitude towards risk. He explained my options and we reviewed a number of suitable products and pension providers. The result being a detailed financial plan that was exactly what I was looking for. Gareth has dealt with the pension companies and tax implications extremely efficiently and has kept me informed throughout.

It is early in our relationship but so far the service, advice and communication have been excellent. Gareth has taken the time to ensure my wife and I fully understood all of the steps taken during the process of constructing our financial plan. To date, everything promised has been delivered.

Within a few weeks of our first meeting, Gareth has transformed my faceless 'Pot' into a generous Tax Free payment together a nice monthly pension. All of this was tailored to my financial needs by Gareth in a discreet yet very professional manner. The outcome has greatly exceeded my anticipated expectations.

In all honesty, I'm unsure if Gareth could have performed any better than he has on my behalf. (and he makes great coffee !)

I found him to be very down to earth, completely client-focused and able to explain even complex - sounding products in terms I found easy to understand. I was particularly impressed with Gareth's ability to understand my attitude to risk and to adapt his recommendations to take in fast-developing political and economic changes which might affect my goals in the future.
