We were new to the UK's financial scene, so needed advice on transfer of investments from abroad and on where to place them in the UK.

How has Ray Prince helped you?

Explained various options, made sure we were aware of consequences of the transfer e.g. tax implications, explained fees and made suggestions (which also were consistent with previous advice we had received on investments prior to moving to the UK).

I'm not sure. As I said above, Ray seemed to do all the right things!

I needed a review of my financial affairs, particularly to ensure I had the right balance of products.

Ray sorted things out properly - I had too much life cover for a single person, plus I was investing money in an extra pension rather than more flexible savings vehicles. Ray explained everything very clearly and gave me options.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Now that I'm only 10 years from retirement I can see how much Rays advice has paid off, in that I have confidence that I will have sufficient funds to maintain the standard of life I have currently.

What could they have done better?

Over the many years I've known Ray I can't think of anything that he could have done any better - he and his team are well organised and make things as easy for me as possible, he's responsive when I need advice and he's great at helping me understand my options.

Ray looked at all of our investments and pensions and provided us with forecasts for different retirement scenarios. He has offered sound advice as to future planning including simplifying our investments and pensions.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We are currently about 15 years away from retirement and now have a clear idea of where we are financially and a plan as to how to achieve a happy and secure retirement.

How has Ray Prince helped you?

Ray does financial planning that is tailored to our needs. He uses software which gives a picture to show a forecast of our financial position ahead in retirement, which gives us great peace of mind. He is truly independent and is not tied to any particular product or institution.

How has Ray Prince helped you?

After a number of unhappy experiences with 'financial advisors', meeting Ray was a revelation and a relief. All the things that I had wanted from an advisor, but which had never previously been delivered or even understood, were taken care of as a matter of course by Ray. He took time to review all aspects of my current financial position, profiled my attitude to risk, carried out a number of financial projections to optimise an investment plan designed to ensure that the money supply would not 'run out' and advised on the best ways to consolidate my savings and pensions into a properly diversified, tax efficient and risk managed portfolio. This is regularly reviewed and rebalanced to ensure that original goals remain valid, realistic and achievable. Further advice was given on wills, power of attorney and health insurance. Ray's explanations are routinely full without being over technical, decisions are always confirmed in writing and the fee structure is fair and transparent. For the first time in my life I feel I am in the hands of a truly honest and thoroughly professional advisor.

analysed in detail our financial situation and our goals and ambitions. Tailored a set of steps by which we could start to realise our goals. Provided feedback and advice as we progress towards the sale of our business. Reassessed our situation once the sale was complete and guided us on investment of funds and future financial planning taking our comfort with risk fully into account.

What could they have done better?

Maybe being more sure we fully understood all the advice at the time it's given. We often thought we understood but after the meeting found we were hazy on some details, and needed to follow up and clairify points later on. Much of this was due, though, to our lack of financial knowledge.

Ray first asked us how we saw our future, our ambitions, assessed our attitude to financial risk and then looked at the chaotic state of our finances. We had a large number of policies taken out over many years with no real overall plan, he explained why we should cash in some and keep others, looked at our NHS pensions and essentially put us on track to achieve our goals. Now that we have a plan, we meet up up annually to see how it is going.

How has Ray Prince helped you?

Ray gave me a very thorough introduction to financial planning and travelled from Newcastle to South Devon for our introductory meeting. He spent the best part of a day going through investment strategy, risks v rewards etc. He has always been at the end of the phone or an email when I need to speak. Last but not least,by following his advice my pension fund has grown by 58% in just over 3 years without an additional penny in contributions which is amazing given the troubled times we have been experiencing. I would throughly recommend his service .
