What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Personal commitments did not allow me to have the spare time to really look into my best financial options. Going to an expert assured me the quality of knowledge and advice I was looking for in regard to my investments, mortgage etc that I was looking for.

By assessing my level of investment risk and generating a perfessional portfolio of ISA stock. Regularly reviewing my portfolio and reccomending amendments based on my current level of risk and anticipated levels of future performance. Providing mortgage advise for my home and let property, providing opportunities to discuss and to work through my requirements, leading to final arrangement of both mortgages.

Auto enrolment was around the corner and Andrew was on hand to give the relevant advice.

How has Andrew O'Brien helped you?

Andrew gave us a full personal and business financial review, he explained fully the impact auto enrolment would have on our business and the importance and benefits of saving for our retirement. He gave fair and even handed advice on various aspects of our financial health and i felt safe and secure in the decisions and conclusions we came to. From pensions, to insurance and savings he had relevant and good advice to give.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

It is early days as yet, however i am confident that all the plans we have made will bear fruit in the not too distant future and beyond.

What could they have done better?

There is nothing i can think of to suggest here, with the advice Andrew has given, i now consider Andrew a personal friend and advisor, I feel I can approach him at any time to address any concerns i may have in regard to many aspects of my protection, savings and future financial health.

Previously we had received poor financial advise, and we needed to look at pensions urgently.

Following a assessment on our view on risk, a managed portfolio of investments was introduced to generate the funds needed to meet our pension expectations.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

The investments have generated the returns required so that we are now on target. Also, the portfolio is regularly reviewed so that it matches our attitude to risk.

What could they have done better?

Not really. We have recovered the situation in a relatively short period of time.

How has Andrew O'Brien helped you?

When we sold our pharmacy in 2012 Andrew had already been advising us about forward financial planning. Having been with HSBC both as a premier account holder and a business account holder, we made an appointment to see a Premier advisor. Unfortunately they did not turn up for the appointment, indeed we are still awaiting a response from HSBC. So since we retired Andrew has been totally responsible for our financial advice. He regularly reviews with us our strategy whether it be inheritance tax advice, pensions, ISAs etc.etc. All fees charged are transparently clear. In summation we recommend Andrew.

From my perspective the products offered by the financial services industry to the man in the street have, in recent years, multiplied both in number and complexity. The waters of the “Pension Seas” alone have become tortuously difficult to navigate for the uninitiated. Without Andrew’s knowledge, advice and expertise I would most certainly be adrift and heading for the rocks. Their is nothing rushed about Andrew’s approach. He takes the time to listen and provides clear and comprehensible options - low on jargon and high on content. I am grateful for his financial guidance.

Andrew is very approachable with excellent communication skills. Andrew arranged our remortage and also our related insurance policy to cover the mortgage. This new remortage to a different provider saved us money. Important to us and probably to everyone. He explained the whole process using simple language when advising us on our investments , savings and our pensions. Andrew reviews our investment yearly and always discusses this on the phone first. Everything is then sent to us in writing before he implements any changes agreed by us. We are very pleased with the returns that Andrew had achieved so far on our investments.
