Dom assisted my sister and I through the dealings of our late Grandfathers estate, in particular the sale of his house and matters relating to capital gains tax.

Dom was an enormous help through the whole process and just made it so much less stressful. Not only is he incredibly friendly and approachable he's also super professional and knows his trade extremely well. The whole thing was rather daunting for us with all the technical jargon etc and Dom just made the whole thing really easy. He's also very responsive which was fantastic!.

He was thorough in finding out our present financial situation before he made any recommendations, and gave us ample opportunity to come to a decision, with absolutely no pressure to do anything hastily, or indeed, at all, if that's ultimately what we wanted.

We have asked Dominic to put together a portfolio for us on the basis of his advice, and he has done so. We're happy that he's understood what we wanted from our investments, and feel 100% happy to trust our investment to Dominic and his team long-term.

From my first meeting with Dominic , he explained in basic terms about my future investments and different ways I could secure my pension in a world of finances that I had no idea about nor understood . What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I wanted clear and understandable advice and recommendations for my existing and future pension savings which were in a range of different schemes. I had no clarity regarding growth / funds / charges / etc for about 50% of my current pension pot and wanted to remedy this. I was also seeking advice for my ISA savings (existing and future), as I wasn't keeping track of the funds they were invested in, and was looking for a simpler way to manage them.

How has Dominic McLoughney helped you?

We had a pre-meeting where Dominic outlined the service he would be providing (review of my existing arrangements) and his fees. I then provided details of my existing savings and outgoings, he also asked me to consider my financial requirements for when I do retire. This was used to prepare a comprehensive evaluation of my personal investment needs, as well as estimating my potential income at retirement on the basis of various growth scenarios. We had subsequent follow-up discussions by phone, email and face to face to iron out the details over the next couple of months. Once we agreed a strategy, a proportion of my existing savings (pensions + ISAs) were consolidated into two funds managed by Dominic with Parmenion. We meet every 6 months to discuss progress / updates, and Dominic is always available to respond to any questions / queries.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I still have savings within my company pension scheme, but the rest of my pensions have been consolidated into a SIPP with Parmenion, as have my ISAs. The funds are split between "medium" (transferred portfolio) and "aggressive" (new savings). These have increased in value - not spectacularly but well in line with expectations given the current volatility of the global stock markets. Best of all, I can now get daily valuations so know exactly how my savings are growing.
