We wanted to release some money from our house to pay off some old debts and change our mortgage to a lower rate. CLS were recommended through a friend to us.

How has Clayton Shipton helped you?

Clayton came up with some fantastic figures which not only exceeded our expectations, it blew them away. We were so happy to see what was possible, but Clayton and his team (a special mention to Tina, who was a superstar and a real asset to CLS) really made it happen, with getting the remortgage deal which was best for us.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Completely! It couldn't have been any better - not only have we paid off all our old outstanding debts (which was a huge relief and quite a surreal thing), we have enough left over to complete some of the things that we always wanted to do within our house as well as not have any future money worries.

What could they have done better?

There truly isn't anything to add that could be constructive. Clayton and Tina kept us up to date every step of the way and we hardly needed to do anything (other than providing the necessary paper work).

We wereFirst Time Buyers, with no idea on buying a house, mortgages, insurance etc, and after meeting with CLS we decided they would definitely be able to help make buying our first house much easier!.

How has Clayton Shipton helped you?

Clayton and his staff were extremely knowledgable, they could not have been more helpful and they genuinely made us feel like we were their only clients. They rang regularly with updates on the house move, they helped push for a quick move, they advised us on not buying a property after reading the awful property survey. Even the little things made their service exceptional, such as always having a cup of tea (the way we wanted it) waiting for us for every appointment, to ringing me just to see how my pregnancy was going. The main thing I loved about CLS was how they sorted everything for us, from organising solicitors, home and contents insurance, personal insurance and pushing hard for a quick sale. I was heavily pregnant around the time of completion and after my waters brreaking early, Tina took the stress away of moving house by just reassuring us and contacting all releveant parties so that I didnn't have to. If i was unsure about what something meant someone at the office would try and find out the answer, even when it had nothing to do with financial advice.

We were extremely happy with the outcome. We moved in as early as possible due to their help and advice. What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Looking for help, guidance on securing our 1st Mortgage and most recently re-mortgaging for lower interest rate due to gaining more equity in out property.

How has Clayton Shipton helped you?

With the 1st Mortgage finding the best deal for us with 10 % deposit and also getting us Mortgage in principle very quickly so we could put offers on the house we wanted to buy. With the 2nd Mortgage bought our term down from 33 years to 15 years for only £400 a month extra.

We were struggling to finish off our house which was derelict when we bought it. Clayton came back with some new mortgage deals one of which included getting a large chunk of money out of the house but still keeping the mortgage term and the monthly payments the same. We had never considered doing this but short term it's too good to turn down. 2 weeks later the mortgage is approved and we're know just waiting for the switch over.

I was let down by one of the big banks who initially offered me a mortgage in principal but then moved the goalposts and were unable to tailor the repayments to what they had initially agreed to. I wanted to get further advice from someone who dealt with these issues first hand and who know how the system worked. Clayton and his Team came highly recommended by my Accountant.

The support and help I got was both through verbal and email communication in the main. Mainly because I live in the North West and Clayton and his staff are based down South. My partner and I were looking for a mortgage. I found Clayton's details via a Google search and checked out the reviews which were excellent.

Clayton met us at a time that suited us. He took all the relevant details of what our requirements were. He didn't give us loads of spiel and sales patter unlike others. He is straight talking and gives you the facts and figures quickly.

Yes our mortgage has been approved and is ready for us once our solicitor requests funds.

What could they have done better?

The only thing I can think is that we've not actually seen sight of any of the mortgage offer or terms and conditions. We've had an email saying its approved but we've not signed anything with Santander as such or seen the full details of the mortgage - that's the only small concern. But we trust Clayton as everything has gone through very straight forward for us. There was also an admin fee of £95 to pay on top of the broker fees which we weren't aware about but we don't begrudge it. It's made the process easier having someone do all the work as I can't deal with people over the phone as I'm deaf.

We had recently had some building work which had ended up costing three times the original quote. We then found that money we intended to use to pay off other debts was now gone and we were trying to service loans, credit cards and a mortgage. This left very little money to enjoy our lives.

How has Clayton Shipton helped you?

Clayton straight away said that he'd improve the position we were in. He explained what they did, and how they did right at the outset and the fees involved. Everything was up front so no hidden surprises. Clayton went through everything with us and within 10 minutes gave us figures that showed we could have our mortgage over an extra 6 months, repay all of our borrowing and still be paying £40 less each month on our mortgage, not something I thought was possible. Between Clayton and our personal contact, Tina, they couldn't had made it easier. They've done everything for us. They've done the chasing, the application completion and the phone calls to reassure that everything was going through ok.

We now have a mortgage agreed, completion is set and we now have a very happy and relaxed house. Until the weight of worry about money is lifted you don't realise how much it has an impact on you. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

After being on a standard variable mortgage for the last few years, i'd been waiting for the market to settle before i fixed again.

Clayton found me the perfect mortgage deal for me. He really understood what I was looking for. Re-mortgage for extension with current lender was turned down due to old defaulted Credit cards.

Found a new mortgage for full amount with a different lender at better rate than currently being paid. Also found life insurance to cover the new amount at less than we were paying for previous mortgage.

In all honesty, I cannot think of anything. They even came to the home address to collect some paperwork to make the whole thing go smoothly as we were going away on holiday. That is what I call service.

I'd been having some difficult in dealing with another mortgage advisor ahead of buying my first property. After going through a protracted period of paperwork and hassle, I stopped using the other advisor and turned to Clayton. I had a very limited amount of time before the deal fell through, but Clayton was able to find and arrange a better deal for me than I'd previously been offered and set everything up, hassle-free.

How has Clayton Shipton helped you?

In a short space of time, Clayton found and arranged an excellent mortgage deal for my circumstances. When the fixed period of that deal was over, he organised a remortgage for me with another great deal. All my interactions with him and his team have been friendly, well communicated, efficient and knowledgeable.

I've seen through the first two years of the first mortgage deal Clayton found for me, and now remortgaged using his services again. When the time comes to remortgage in the future, I'll be going straight back to him again.
