Having always used the services of a financial advisor for the last 40 years David became my adviser 25 years ago when his company took over my previous financial advisors company on their retirement and he has given me excellent advice and service ever since and I will continue to use his services

I had some surplus capital in the business account and wanted to get the money out tax efficiently

Recommendation was to make a lump sum employer pension contribution which saved corporation tax without NI or P11D issues

Yes - very tax efficient and the investment is increasing well

Where to invest the money from sale of property and allow us to take a monthly income.

After the initial meeting, to establish what kind of investors we were, he advised us where the money would be invested to our best advantage. Has moved money each year into our ISA accounts.

Yes. When the market was to our advantage.

What could they have done better?

Sometimes the paperwork from the meeting was slow to arrive. Perhaps he could have chased it up from the main office.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I needed a professional adviser to provide guidance as to how best to invest/manage my mother’s financial affairs. Following her death I have continued to use David as my adviser during the period her estate was passed to her surviving family.

How has David Butler helped you?

He initially gave advice on how best to invest the proceeds of my mother’s property as she moved into long term care and on ways to fund long term care fees. Subsequently, David has continued to provide advice regarding assets received as a result of inheritance and more specifically around managing my pension entitlements in the run up to my state retirement age.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

In the main yes. I set up a SIPP recommended by David and this has performed as expected and is straightforward to manage.

What could they have done better?

Nothing fundamental springs to mind.

I had some money to invest

How has David Butler helped you?

David suggested an investment platform for me to invest my money in 2007 and I have used David as my financial adviser since then. Since then my money has continued to grow. David has always been on the end of the phone or is available by email which is reassuring.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Definitely. There have been some challenging times but the advice given has always been good

I'm not really sure having not had any other experience with a financial adviser

The family looked for adviser for my husband who was suffering from declining health and needed advice and help rationalising his financial affairs

How has David Butler helped you?

David got a quick understanding of the existing investments and the family situation. When my husband died he was able to provide me with straightforward advice about my financial position

Too early to know as probate and sale of property have happened only during last few months . His advice and help sorting out my husband’s miscellaneous investments was invaluable.

My husband and I joined Transac some years ago and have stayed with their various incarnations ever since. Now I am alone I continued with the company.

I see Mr Butler every year for an update on my situation and I have no reason to change.

Not always but that is more to do with current international situations.

I am not an accountant so I have no idea I hope things are not too worrying in the financial world at the moment. Over the years there have other financial crises and eventually things recover. The worry now is at 87 do I have time!

Originally I had lost money on a stocks and shares ISA, I was given Davids's details and he changed what the ISA was invested in and the new investment made the money back. We now have used him for other financial planning.

Our decision to invest saved capital within the limits of reasonable levels of perceived risk.

How has David Butler helped you?

We receive excellent financial advice and guidance, free from financial/investment jargon and any form of "product payment benefit" to our adviser. His personal approach (and that of his Company colleagues) is performed in a friendly manner with a perceived operating objective that is directly tuned to "What is best for the Customer". He also readily demonstrates investment knowledge that the average customer is most likely to be unaware of, with the clear objective of keeping conversant with current and future financial and investment opportunities.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Our investments are considered long term. Therefore at this stage we are keeping abreast of the current marketplace trends and remain confident that the long term results can be achieved.

What could they have done better?

To answer this to the benefit of our adviser we would need a far greater knowledge of the financial/investment industry. The key things that we look for are a friendly approach, good manners and to demonstrate that he listens to understand the customer's objectives and requirements. In this context we have no criticism.
