Jamie has gone from strength to strength - moving with the times and therefore always one step ahead for his clients. My review of January 2015 stands - Jamie is simply the best. Since my review of 2015 Jamie has assisted me with further personal financial issues including further additional investment which I am SO grateful for. I cannot imagine the position I would be in if it hadn't been for Jamie (and his wonderful team) - the amazing advice support and friendship is unbelievable.

We contacted Jamie as we wanted to seek advice in planning for our retirement. Jamie immediately put us at ease. He spent time to get to know my husband and I so that he could ascertain our dreams and goals for the future. He also used a fact find question system to dig deep into our needs, Consequently a plan was formulated which he explained comprehensively. He aims to find the best solution for the client without any pressure to do business. We found him to be straightforward with a lovely sense of humour and his advice has been extremely useful. Although we are not his clients yet we would have no hesitation taking business to him and his team.

My Mother inherited a substantial estate when my Father died in 2016. However, the money was sitting in a bank account not earning any interest. Due to failing health we knew that Mum would need long term residential care. We needed help to plan for this.

Following comprehensive fact finding and a risk tolerance assessment of my Mum, Jamie advised us to set up a 3 pot system that covers our immediate needs and protects Mum’s future interests.

I found it strange I had been assigned Jamie given he is not located very close to where I live. At one stage there was a suggestion I would need to travel to his office for a meeting, which was simply impractical. The initial contact was a bit slower than I expected. However, once this occurred I received a professional service, albeit that I had to spend quite a lot of time completing surveys to provide information. It then took some time to arrange a slot for a follow up call when he and I were both available. His advice on the call was good. I am still waiting for the actual report however.

Regular review of all portfolios and advice on changes needed to achieve targets Good 'attitude to risk' assessment before advising on investment opportunities, with good explanation of what it all meant

In view of the recent economic climate I am reasonably happy with current performance. Targets are not always met but usually very close. Prompt and good advice given when needed on other projects needing investment

sometimes a little more detailed explanation of investments and terms, like wrappers.

Jamie understands our needs and requirements, he fits in around our hectic lifestyle and no matter what day of the week we contact him, he always return our queries promptly. We value his advice greatly, and he has never put any pressure on us to invest in any scheme that we weren't comfortable with. Our bi-annual reviews are informative and Jamie will always show us areas where our investments could do better, but also making us aware of the impact of these decisions

What could they have done better?

It's difficult to criticise Jamie, yes we could all do with a better return on our investments, but then that is the nature of investments! Maybe some kind of online investment portal, where we could check our investment on a more regular basis.

I have been client of Lynas Vokes for over 15 years and have found them to be an excellent company. Jamie Gordon has been my advisor throughout . He has always handled my investments with skill and attention . He communicates well and explains the advice he gives very clearly. When giving advice and recommendations he is always allows enough time for there to be a good and robust discussion before any commitment is made. I have every confidence in him and his company that my best interests are being looked after.

What could they have done better?

There is one area where an improvement is needed. Lynas Vokes have a section on their website where you can sign in to look at your total portfolio and in theory get up to date valuations. Unfortunately this is not kept up to date indeed some valuations are quite old. It would be very helpful if this section could be updated on a monthly basis say at the close of business on the last day of each month.
