Sadly one star is the only available option here as Dai has not responded to our enquiry of 19/3 for pension advice, even after a direct follow-up by VouchedFor when the initial 24-hour period had passed. As of today, 26/3, still no response. We can only assume that some sort of difficult circumstances have prevented Dai from getting in touch.

Dai cuts through all the confusion and explains things in a way that make it very easy to comprehend, he also makes the whole process as easy and as pain free as possible, ensuring all the paperwork is done his side and we only had very little input. He has also given us (both myself and my partner) clarity on what our priorities are from a financial planning perspective and we trust his advice due to his extensive knowledge and integrity.

My late wife and I had an untidy mix of pensions, small investments, shares and ISAs. We needed someone to rationalise what we had for easier access and long term benefit.

He has ticked all the boxes so far, especially extracting my accumulated AVC from 'ReAssure' (!), a misnomer if ever there was one, for which I am particularly grateful.

I think most of the items are now in place as they should be but it's only been going for about a year so it will take a while for benefits to become evident.

What could they have done better?

Far be it for me to presume to question the efficacy of their operation. If I had thought that I could tell them how to perform, I'd have done it for myself...?! Dogs and barking come to mind.

A review of my overall "Financial State" to revisit current plans in place to ensure that I was in a strong and healthy position in all aspects of my finances. In addition my Business was beginning to show strong growth so I wanted to have some real clarity as to how I should be both using and investing any monies that were becoming available.

I was buying my first house and needed a mortgage. Dai, Richard and the team got my mortgage through really quickly and I managed to get in before the Stamp Duty deadline back in July 2021.

I received my retirement lump sum & as a person with Dyscalculia I didn't know what to do to protect my money until I retire totally. I was looking for advice as I wanted to reduce my working hours as I head towards retirement and be confident I was using my Pension in the best way possible.

Dai listened carefully to my situation and proposal and offered some other solutions for me to consider. He gave me time to reflect and once I knew what I wanted to do he supported me through the process. He continues to monitor my investment and gives me updates if anything impacts them (such as Ukraine). He always responds promptly to any questions I may have and explains clearly so I understand every aspect.

I was approaching my 60th birthday and had two policies which were due to pay out. I also had a small pension due but was also carrying on working until 66 when my main pension would come in. Due to Covid and all the uncertainty that went with it, I wanted some sound financial advice to get me on a good footing

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

While going through a divorce, I needed advice on protection suited to my new circumstances, as well a sole mortgage to remain in my home and a new pension for the funds from a pension sharing order to go into.

How has Dai Rose helped you?

Dai went through all the options available and advised on what might most suit my circumstances and needs

Yes, I have been able to put in place everything I needed, transfer my home into my sole name and my new pension is up and running ready for funds to be transferred into.

While it would have been nice to have been able to do some of this face-to-face, this wasn't possible as much of the advice was provided during Covid-19 lockdown period. Dai dealt with this well, giving me plenty of time on the phone and also finding other ways of sharing information.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had a sum of money from an inherited house sale and wanted to invest for my retirement. Also, I had several frozen pensions that I wanted to consolidate.

How has Dai Rose helped you?

He contacted all the companies holding my frozen pensions, and advised me on how best to re-invest the money (in another pension). Plus, he advised me on how best to invest other monies in an ISA.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Not as yet, but this was down to the Covid-19 pandemic. In that, Dai advised me not to release my frozen pensions because of the loss in value due to the pandemic. He will keep reviewing the situation until it improves to the point where he thinks it's a good time to move forward.

What could they have done better?

Dai is very pro-active, but there might have been the odd occasion when communications became a bit disjointed. On the whole, the service Dai provided was excellent.

My finances were largely unknown as to my NHS and University pensions; if I had them or not, how much, etc. David and I found four pensions and then David helped me to consolidate my pensions. Additionally, David and his colleague sorted my mortgage out, having only set up a limited company 1 year earlier. I was in my new home within 7 weeks of first seeing it. He is professional and down to earth and listened carefully to what I wanted to achieve, giving me appropriate options as to how I could achieve those aims. We were unhappy with our previous adviser, mainly because he was nearly impossible to get hold of (he did not respond to phone calls or emails).

How has Dai Rose helped you?

During his first meeting with us, David asked lots of questions to gauge our current circumstances, both on a business footing as well as a personal one. David then provided an overview of his services and ran through an in depth plan of how he could help improve our current situation. As some of our insurances were shortly due to expire, we decided to go ahead with David in respect of our Life, Permanent Health and Medical insurance policies. These policies are all now in place - for all of them, David has secured better cover for us as well as a significant cost saving on the policies we had previously. Our household mortgage is due to expire in 2022, so this was the next thing David helped us with. We wished to extend the mortgage and David managed to secure an offer for us which not only provided an additional amount to pay off credit cards, but was also cheaper. In the New Year, we will be working with David on our pensions and wills.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We are really delighted with the outcome because (as previously mentioned) we now have better insurance/protection cover and at a more competitive rate. I can't tell you how much we have appreciated everything David has done for us - he has been absolutely tireless in his efforts to help us. In particular, securing the mortgage offer through to being finalised was quite a headache (not helped by our existing bank!). He has personally spent hours and hours going backwards and forwards with the banks and solicitors to get the deal through. He keeps us 'in the loop' at all times via phone and/or email and responds very quickly if we have any queries. David is quite simply a very genuine, friendly, reliable, likeable and professional person (he really 'knows his stuff'), who puts his 'customer' first, and there don't seem to be too many of them around these days. We know we're in very safe hands with him. We are absolutely delighted with everything David has done for us and I truly believe we will be working with David until the end of our days.

There really isn't anything at all that David could have done better - a 100% satisfied customer!
