Complete waste of time. He made an appointment that he confirmed by email and then he forgot to come. His company sent us forms to complete that had our names incorrect. We won't be using him or the company.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Multiple pensions and investments and not enough time to manage them myself so wanted to consolidate it all and get it managed professionally

Pension consolidation and advice, long term financial planning, including inheritance planning. My scenario is relatively complex with a ltd co, multiple pension pots and a partner form another country. None of this was a problem and the advice was very useful and sound.

I was left some money and wanted to have some advice on what to do, as i did not need it to cover my day to day expenses. I also had a number of seemingly largely useless small pension pots due to changing jobs.

How has Alistair Wallace helped you?

He helped me amalgamate the various pension pots and open a pension plan. He also set up two different saving plans for me. I did not have much money to invest and he was one of the few advisers prepared to look at the amount of money I had and to advise accordingly. I have also had the opportunity to use their forward planning service for retirement, which has been very useful.

Alistair prioritised moving the pension immediately to both save on the fees which were eroding it, and to enable it to continue accruing in a different fund. He then helped us to think about financial and inheritance planning which for us is focussed on the care of our son.

The pension pot is now growing instead of shrinking and we have been slowly working towards finalising a letter of wishes alongside setting up a trust fund. We feel that Alistair understands our family situation. How has Alistair Wallace helped you?

Literally, it’s should say what didn’t he do. He is absolutely amazing. I find things like this very intimidating and scary. Alistair was there for me throughout. No question was too much for him. It’s so good to know that he’s at the other end of a phone, or zoom call, if I have a question about anything. Thanks to him, I was able to retire early, I had no idea I could, and he was with me every step of the way. He always goes above and beyond. So thanks to the way he advised me to invest the pension funds, plus my own savings,I’ve retired at 55, I honestly would’ve carried on until retirement age, I have health issues that make it very hard to do my job, now I don’t have to worry. As far as I’m concerned, I couldn’t recommend him more.

Several years ago I realised that I needed to think about a pension, a bit late in the day and had some catching up to do. And recently I needed to combine an old small pension with my new one.

Alistair was knowledgeable about all the options that I had available and was patient in explaining how they work, what some of the financial 'jargon' actually means, and then through questions and discussion helped me make my own conclusions about the product that would suit me best.

Alistair is most obviously a trustworthy professional; always smartly turned out, businesslike in attitude and spot on time for appointments, which lends confidence. I have enjoyed Alistair's guidance and support for over five years now and I feel sure that I have done the right thing by putting my trust in him. I also feel that I was particularly fortunate in having been introduced to him and signing up for his services just at the right time, back in 2009, rather than burying my head, hoping for the best and doing nothing.

What could they have done better?

The whole point of my association with Alistair is for him to effectively manage and grow my not very large pension pot and to make the very best of it so that when it comes to time to draw an income I shall have sufficient money to live a long, happy and prosperous life. That is the plan, and with Alistair's expertise, skills and assistance I fully expect to achieve my aim. 'What could your adviser do better?' is the question: well, eventually, the measure of his success will be how much my pension money will continue to grow to the point when it is needed to provide a worthwhile income. My fund seems to be moving in the right direction now and I have high hopes of Alistair's ability to provide me with what I will need in the future.

I had several small pension pots which were dormant and I simply wanted to amalgamate them to one active fund going forward. Many financial advisers could not bothered to get involved as the amounts were not significant. Gemini and Alistair Wallace were happy to assist me and after some time (sorting the paperwork) they got all of the pots of money into one fund which is performing much better than the small amounts would have if left in their original place. Information from Gemini is regular and Alistair is always contactable. I feel that the service that I have received is super,b and the professionalism and financial knowledge explained in fairly simple terms is very valuable to me.

Alistair provides us (my wife and I) with excellent ongoing advice concerning our investment portfolio, regularly reviewing our risk profile, recommending and implementing fund switches and generally "ensuring" that we obtain the best long term return on our investments. In addition, he has reviewed our pension provisions, consolidating where appropriate into a more manageable vehicle and assisting with the conversion of other provisions into annuities.

It is difficult to identify anything he can do better. The only comment in based around our ability to take in the proposed solutions. As a suggestion, for some clients it may be better to focus on particular elements of the proposal at a time. This comment is based on our limited knowledge of the financial world.

Alistair Wallace has provided me with constructive advice, explained my options well, and with great on-going patience (I am not very financially savvy) without a trace of patronisation, which I really appreciated. He is always quick to respond to any queries I have, and is happy to arrange meetings at my home to suit my convenience. I have met other financial advisers in the past, but have not come across one as approachable and amenable - without being sanctimonious - as Alistair.

I can't think of anything...... But in the 'what is Alistair's best quality' it only allows me to highlight one, and he seems to possess most of them....
