What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

As an entrepreneur with employees, we had reached the point of needing some formal support to set-up pension facilities for employees and directors. Chris came recommended by my lawyer at the time.

How has Chris Dahl helped you?

The right balance in communication - not too much and not too little. And I can leave most of the admin and safety checks with him to arrange in relation to my SIPP and the pension pots for various staff and as the contributing employer.

Yes, steady (not too risky) performance, clear 6 monthly information and timely administration including at busy times around the tax year end

Yes, over the years I have been with Chris my Portfolio has grown despite some tough times over the past few years with the COVID-19 pandemic. The Portfolio still turned over a small positive amount of interest.

What could they have done better?

I think that overall it was a positive outcome for me, meetings were rearranged over Zoom or email. So I would find it difficult to find anything that they could have done better given this very difficult situation.

I was looking for an Advisor to help with an investment plan for my when I left the Fire Service. Chris’s name was given to me by a friend. I contacted Chris, was happy with him after our first meeting with him and have been with him since this time.

How has Chris Dahl helped you?

With my Fire Service Pension lump sum. I knew nothing at all about savings and investments. Chris’s advice helped me with choosing the right investment plans and I have benefited as a result over the years. My wife also took advice from Chris and was also able to use his advice to her benefit.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, definitely. I am prepared to take some risk to benefit my investment growth but my wife prefers a low risk plan. Chris has developed plans for both of us that have grown over the years. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic our investments have grown.

What could they have done better?

If like us you know nothing about investments then you do take a big risk when a new advisor that you don’t personally know comes to see you to potentially invest your lifetime earnings. We took this risk with Chris. Over the years, I have learnt about the investment process and understand more than I did by asking a lot of questions. We are happy that we took a ‘leap of faith’ with Chris and have been with him pretty much since he started.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Coming retirement , end of company scheme and inducement to leave an AVC scheme were reasons to look for a financial adviser .

How has Chris Dahl helped you?

Initially i was with another financial adviser who maintained very poor communication and the investment returns were not good , so i decided to look for someone else although i had to pay another set of fees , which were recouped within a few months thanks to much improved communication and clearly explained advice especially for someone like me who finds the whole subject pretty boring .

So far so good , early signs are promising but it is early days as two of the pension providers we are dealing with to transfer money from are rather slow to respond .

What could they have done better?

As i write this i have no suggestion for improvement , i am content with the service i am getting , i have no complaints .
