A Divorce.

How has Angus Willson helped you?

Angus was very helpful with financial advice, at a stressful time in my Divorce. Assets had to be divided as part of the divorce settlement, including Pensions and other financial planning for the future. Angus simplified the planning of the pensions, retirement income and annuity process, so I was able to understand it all, and take relevant advice.

Yes, although there is ongoing financial advice.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. Everything was done with efficiency.

I was put in touch with Angus via my wife’s solicitor to take a review of my pension for divorce settlement purposes. Angus spent half an hour on the phone with me discussing the situation and then went on to take a rather convoluted and complicated email with set of Attachments whereby he set upon making sense of it all and wrote back within a week from making first contact with his conclusions that I could send to my solicitor and he made no charge for his services !!! Angus is very polite and knowledgeable and clearly very generous, and I can only thank him Wholeheartedly and would highly recommend him to anybody else if you’re looking for a competent pensions advisor Thank you, Angus

I needed advice on setting up a pension.

How has Angus Willson helped you?

Angus took over my original financial advisor's business and has continued to help with advice on pensions and investments. In particular, Angus and his team have obtained quotes for setting up annuities and managed the process. This has involved chasing the annuity provider to complete the set up process which was achieved just before a substantial stock market fall would have reduced the value of the annuity considerably.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Given the recent volatility in the stock market the outcome was in line with expectations.

What could they have done better?

The annuity company could have acted more swiftly, but Angus and his team did well in chasing them and updating us on progress.

I've been working with a financial adviser to help manage my investment portfolio for over 20 years.

How has Angus Willson helped you?

I have only been working with Angus for a short time as my previous IFA had to stop working with me due to a very unfortunate set of events and Angus adopted my portfolio. I have been impressed by Angus' proactivity and responsiveness and the way he got his head around my own circumstances. It's a very volatile market so its early days to judge his investment advice but early signs are promising. I like the tools and technology that Angus uses.

Initially need to address an issue by a current pension provider who was refusing to make a transfer without advice. Also discussed possible pension strategies.

How has Angus Willson helped you?

Angus agreed to talk to the pension company in question. In the initial consultation he offered helpful and impartial advice. A refreshing change from the relatively hard sell I received from other providers. Also was very honest around the merits of leaving schemes as they are or changing to a centrally managed platform scheme.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

In progress. Angus is in contact with the pension provider. Although awaiting response from them, he has been prompt in acting and I feel happy that I will see a positive outcome.

What could they have done better?

I believe the free advice and service he has provided so far have been most helpful and i cannot see how it could be improved upon. I will be looking to use his services in managing my pensions going forward.

Following discussions with Angus, we had the confidence to proceed with his recommendations. His help and advice has enabled us to transfer some of our investments in a very efficient manner. The funds I was investing in with my previous investor were mean't to be medium/high risk. The investor changed a good proportion of these funds to high risk - and didn't advise. me. Trying to contact them was incredibly difficult and time wasting, and when I did get through, they said I had to look at all the funds myself and decide myself what I would want o move them to (no advice offered)
