Please provide a brief comment about your experience with Tom

I needed some advice when considering what to do approaching aged 55 with my works' Defined Benefit pension, whether to take it into payment and then plough into my company's other what appeared on paper to be a far better proposition for me at my stage in life and stage in my career. He was able to rapidly understand my myriad of modelled scenarios, corrected a number of mistakes and was then able to spend some really quality time discussing the pro's and con's of my options afoot. I've now made my decision and want to thank Tom for his help and guidance on this difficult matter - I will be using Pen Life again and hopefully Tom in the future at the next stage.

I had a number of defined contribution work pensions as well as an offer to be bought out of a defined benefit pension and needed expert advice of how to achieve long term financial requirements as well as planning for early retirement.

First The 3 star rating on the first page of this review is there becasue I did'nt really do much in terms of comparing prices as Tom was recommended to my wife by a work colleuague, That out of the way, Tom visisted our home and explained in detail how the Draw down pension worked and answered all our questions with a calm and thorough demenour. Whilst in full-time employment my investments were under performing but being very busy and don't sure who to approach I left making decisions about switching funds. How has Tom Hughes helped you?

Tom sorted out my financial situation as I approached retirement and organised a sound base for on-going income from that time. In all my dealings with Tom I have always felt comfortable with the advice and information provided and in the way it was delivered . He has an easy way of communicating whilst ensuring that the details are delivered in a simple and easily understood manner. His ability to identify the important issues I have had is first class and in brief he has my total trust.

What could they have done better?

I have no suggestions as to how Tom could improve his performance so far as I am concerned as I am perfectly content with the service and outcomes provided by him and his firm.

How has Tom Hughes helped you?

Tom made a home visit to discuss my own personal pension and also my father-in-laws investments. I found him to be very well informed. I felt assured that the information and advice he gave us was well constructed and informed.

I don't have any criticism be it constructive or otherwise as we felt his advice and also is professionalism were well received.
