What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I was looking for a more pro-active accountant, someone who would understand an entrepreneurial approach to business.

How has Michael Ogilvie helped you?

Michael Ogilvie understood not only my reasons for taking an entrepreneurial approach to health practice, but also the ins and outs of online and speaking businesses, while also understanding complex NHS GP accounts fully as a member of AISMA. He understood the process of coaching, in my case health coaching, and proactive approaches to health. He helped me to refocus, plan ahead, and embrace new ideas.

Absolutely, I am moving forward in my career and business and gaining momentum.

Our previous accountant stopped providing Limited Company auditing services.

We have a care home business and Michael Ogilvie has specialist knowledge of the sector. He has also provided us with far superior Tax Advice than we have ever received before. Michael Ogilvie is not just an accountant but also an inspirational business adviser.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We are much more up to date now with monthly and quarterly management accounts as a result of the service we receive, which is essential in complying with bank monitoring.

What could they have done better?

Whilst Michael Ogilvie is always on our wavelength sometimes his staff have been a bit slow to catch on to exactly how we would like our accounts to be presented. This is now resolved and everything is running as smoothly as could be expected.

Michael Ogilvie has supported me with the business and with my personal tax for over 25 years. Thanks God I met him. He inspired confidence in me from day one and has never stopped. His company is efficient, friendly and will always go the extra mile. Their accounting is second to none and we have only ever had excellent service. My Twin and I have recommended him to many people all of who are still with him.

What could they have done better?

Honestly Michael is always the first to see if there is a something that could be done better. I am struggling to think of something which means that I am 100% happy with his service.

How has Michael Ogilvie helped you?

Michael Ogilvy has been my accountant for approximately 30 years. He has helped me manage and grow my business from being a sole trader, managing two partnerships over a period of 14 years, a merge with another company and more recently is helping plan my eventual exit from the business. Michael has advised me every step of the way and continues to do so. He is an invaluable 'member' of our business.

What could they have done better?

The only thing he might have helped me with is to have been more aggressive with the various partnerships in order to set myself up better for my future. But that is partly my fault as well!

Recently we made an acquisition to our business and they have been invaluable in supporting us and advising us with the solicitors contracts. with tax planning , and in dealing with the bank over funding. We have used the services of Mike & his team for some years now and they are very professional, but always friendly and approachable, and I would recommend them to any person or business. I do find it useful to be able to contact Mike, and if he is not in the office, he does respond to emails and messages.

I have been using Mikes Ogilvie,s services since about 1986 when I started a building project & he was recommended to me then. OBC have always given me a great service & respond quickly when I need advise. The staff are very good at reminding me when my various tax affairs are due. I always know how much my fees are as I have an estimate,which is great for budgeting. I would always recommend them to anyone looking for an accountant.

What could they have done better?

For me personally I find they seem to be one step ahead as I am often receiving variouse news letters & updates & help. There is always need for improvement but as I have said they always seem to working at this side of the business. I would probably not have stayed with them for this length of time if did not think I was getting value for money.

I first met Mike socially but it was not long before I realized that his professional skills where worthy of merit as well. He has an interesting balance of both personal and business skills. He is informed, balanced, focused, intelligent, lateral thinking and informative without being pushy. He is also an eloquent and confident speaker - or so he tells me! He is quite simply my first port of call when considering or confronted by financial issues.

What could they have done better?

I hate the fact that he calls himself a profit coach - and he could be slightly taller...

OBC are probably rare as they are consistent. My two companies have had the benefit of their advice for nearly a decade. This is not just tax advice but good solid commonsense business advice such as budgeting, marketing and legal. The directors and managers obviously choose and train their staff well. The thing we like best is that they keep us up to date and amazingly, each year it seems like minutes after the budget, we get an easy to follow guide tailored to our business.

What could they have done better?

Really cannot think of anything.

We have been with OBC and Mike for many years now, they have provided good quality service and advice. In addition to the financial statements, Mike and his staff are happy to answer ad hoc questions to assist us with business decisions and they seek specialist advice from within their team if needed.
