Please provide a brief comment about your experience with John

I live overseas so have not been to see John yet but I have made contact and exchanged several e mails with him and have an appointment to se him at the end of this month when I will be back in the UK. So far he has been very friendly and helpful. I have answered the questions below but can't really say for sure as I have yet to meet John at his offices.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

Back in 2008 I was setting up my first business and needed an accountant. What I found was a fantastic business mentor and friend who also does accounts.

How has John Oddy helped you?

John and the team started us on the right path and have kept us there ever since.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I am current directly involved as owner/founder of 3 successful businesses and have perfects accounts.

What could they have done better?

Lets have a client day out.

Looking for a partner to work closely with during a period of high growth.

I was starting a business and knew nothing about accountancy.

John helped with our company registration, cash flow forecasts, data handling, Sage, bookeping, payroll, tax planning and record keeping.

We have now been trading for 12 years, we have seen the outcome we were looking for and have grown the business considerably since our start date.

Starting a new business I was looking for an accountant that provided more than simple book keeping and tax advice. As a professional you'd expect that as a minimum.

How has John Oddy helped you?

Not only has John and his team provided excellent service and advice as you'd want from an accountant. He has also been a good business advisor, mentor and sounding board on a number of other successful ventures.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I own and manage 3 successful, profitable businesses that come under the due care and attention of John and the team. Ensuring we stay compliant and come up with great ideas to help service our clients better.

Price and service our old accountant wasn't delivering on either

How has John Oddy helped you?

He added an extra layer of business planning and tax efficient to our companies he also lower our fees while giving us more face to face time and advice. The tax planning has been very valuable

We needed a hands on accountant who could also act as a financial director - we were very impressed with Johns dynamic, common sense and professional approach.

Ran my own business for 3 months then took employment so had complicated tax issues for a year or 2!

How has John Oddy helped you?

Set up companies for me. Gave me briefing on basic business accounting, returned annual reports, minimised tax liabilities (left to me I'd have ended up paying an extra £3k!)

I am now back in employment. John and the team at Ascentis helped me massively. Am I happy - Definitely!

To be honest almost nothing. They did a great job from start to finish!
