What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

My partner needed to do a self assessment which included foreign amounts as well. I had a few complications due to policies and ,retirement etc Also we as a couple needed guidance since there were policies cashed as well as retirement

How has Matt Wadsworth helped you?

Enormous amount of patience was displayed when due to ignorance, we gave contradictory information.Matt patiently highlighted where the contradictions were, provided an example, and asked us to send the relevant information. At no time was there any sign of impatience just calm steady support. Making a nightmare project Into a smooth completion. Then even sending us a final asking if we were satisfied and only then submitting. The relief and joy at this easy conclusion of what appeared to be a mountain is priceless! Bless you Matt!

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We received my partners assessment earlier this year it was totally satisfactory. My assessment has been submitted and the outcome is still to be determined but the ease of the process with Matt was outstanding and such a relief that the outcome is almost irrelevant-such is the relief!

I was looking for an accountant to handle my income as a freelance consultant in the Telecommunications industry. I had previously used an umbrella company and decided to switch to LTD following advice from Matt.

I would like to see an email receipt saying that my query had been received and would be dealt with in due course. This is only because my email account had an issue and they weren't getting delivered. I had to call to ask if they were received, which they were not, but an email receipt would have meant i'd known immediately.

After setting up my own solicitors practice in June 2016, I was looking for someone who would be able to take care of all of my accounts, for a reasonable price. As a solicitor practising on my own, I needed someone who I could trust to perform that role accurately and responsibly without being too expensive.

How has Matt Wadsworth helped you?

Matt has taken over all of the VAT returns, Company accounts and self assessment for me. He diarises everything so I just get an e mail telling me how much to pay and to what account. It has taken the worry out of it for me. Furthermore, I entered into a dispute with HMRC early on in his instruction regarding my VAT registration date and Matt was able to steer me in this process and advise accordingly. This helped me to achieve the right outcome for my business. My dad does my bookeeping for me and Matt has been really patient in answering all of his e mails and queries.

When I first starting looking I was a self-employed author who had just gone full time and realised that I needed someone with far better financial skills to manage my self-assessment. Since then I went on to form an Limited Company several years ago through Matt and he now also takes care of my VAT and anything to do with the company.

How has Matt Wadsworth helped you?

I am very much a words person not a numbers person, and Matt has always been exceptionally patient when explaining everything to me - often several times! He never made me feel at all stupid and is so easy-going and laid back that I 'almost' enjoyed learning about numbers. What I like so much about having Matt as my accountant is that he always answers my emails, he's always straight down the line with everything, and I never have to worry about anything because he's always on top of it. There really isn't any query too small, and in many ways, he reminds me of my literary agent. I may not be her biggest client but she always makes me feel as if I am. Matt provides that sort of service.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I recently moved into the world of IT Contracting and as such required the knowledge and expertise of an Accountant.

How has Matt Wadsworth helped you?

Matt helped me with setting up my new LTD Company, registering for VAT and thoroughly explaining all of the Tax, Dividends, Directorship and employee information I would need to successfully run my company. As this was entirely new to me, Matt took the time to explain everything carefully and completely, ensuring I understood what was expected of me as a new Company Director. In regards to setting up the business, Matt took the lead on this and was incredibly efficient in setting the business up and getting me started.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Matt exceeded my expectations, he's always on hand to answer any question no matter how large or small. The whole process has been hassle free, allowing me to not worry about this side of my business and focus on what I need to do in order to be successful.

What could they have done better?

I struggle to find any constructive criticism. Matt is extremely knowledgeable, explains everything clearly and in a way I can understand. He's quick to reply to any query I may have, I feel very relaxed with this side of my business, confident in the fact that MW Accounting has this entirely in hand.
