Gulam himself was pleasant and helpful in our meeting. Unfortunatly, he must carry the weight of his staff, hence the 1 star. After keeping me hanging and letting me travel up for a meeting... yesterday, an hour after they closed for xmas, I received an email response to my request that we proceed with my account. Steve Brown of Shaikh Accounting simply cut me loose. I had had the audacity to ask that my account be dealt with as over the previous 6wks he had missed two telephone appts and had not responded to 3 phone messages and two emails. Obviously in business time is money. I now have to wait an additional 2 weeks for the new year before I can begin even looking for a new accounts firm. I have lost property purchases with the delay in forming my account. I waited as I liked this firm and all I had read. But my time was not respected and to unceremoniously dump someone who SHOOK HANDS with you on going forward together. Well, Im past shocked at the behaviour. Steve had even taken my ID, so there is no doubts that we were going forward. So I have realised that, at least in sofar as Steve Brown is concerned, he must not be questioned, and can welch on agreements as and when he feels like it... with a good disrespectful wasting of my time thrown in to add insult to injury. So to surmise, yes, Mr Shaikh was great, but as a company they can not be trusted. My needs were clearly explained before we shook hands and my ID was taken, so the suggestion that the reason for not taking my account being that there was not the time for my complicated needs was clearly just ego speak for "dont question me". So very dissapointed. On the bright side, at least now I know I just want one umbrella company as Mr. Shaikh had suggested, as I do feel his advice and knowledge was sound. Just his colleague's behaviour lets them down. If you can't trust a man's word and handshake then there's not really anything left is there. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I'll put this down to a lucky escape.
