What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an equity release adviser?

I was looking to make my final move as I have now retired and needed a bit more money to be able to buy my dream home. I did not qualify for a normal mortgage.

Yes we did get to an acceptable outcome despite what we felt was a serious underevaluation of our asset.

What could they have done better?

In my opinion, they (Canada Life) could have selected a different qualified quantiry surveyor with proven knowledge of the relevant housing market.

I required a remortgage which has been previously hard to sort out.

Nick has been extremely helpful in organising and bringing my enquiry to a successful conclusion. When I need financial help and no one else could help Nick managed to find me a mortgage which has now completed. I am very thankful for the help.

Yes the outcome was perfect, without Nicks help I would have had a problem to remortgage my property.

We had reached the end of our mortgage but still had an outstanding balance that needed to be paid off, either by selling up or by a further financial arrangement. We wanted to stay in the property and had substantial equity in the property so chose the latter.

Nick took the time to understand our requirement and needs. As a couple we had differing ideas on equity release. Nick listened carefully to both of us and was an excellent facilitator, hearing our concerns and explaining all the options available. At no time did he attempt to coerce us into a decision but gave us the time to think about all the options. After sourcing and providing a number of solutions we went ahead with the product that best suited our long term plan. Nick saw it through to the end for us and is there should we need him in the future.

Yes the outcome is what we expected and hoped for. The product was one of the best on the market with a company we knew and that fitted in with our plans and objectives for the future.

I honestly can't think of anything he could have done better.
