We don't have the time or talent to monitor our portfolio continuously. Kam helped us to decide on the right investment strategy, and put the hard work into a trusted expert's hands, but with the right level of control remaining with us, freeing up our time and giving us peace of mind. Kam also placed strong emphasis on helping us to decide how much we can afford to invest so that we don't over-commit.

I contacted Kam Bains recently, as I needed advise on debt consolidation and remortgaging my property. She has been outstanding with her specialist knowledge, supporting both myself and my wife. Her advice and support has resulted with us consolidating our debt.

I re-mortgaged my property and converted it from a Buy to Let product to a residential mortgage.

Kam worked tirelessly to find just the right lender that would fit my needs with the lowest interest rate possible! She also advised on my insurance policies and gave me fantastic advice! Yes!! I was very happy with what Kam recommended for me, and were very suited to my needs. I was successful in my re-mtg, however due to my circumstances i was not successful with my equity release, however will be re-visiting this in 6 months time.

Kam always emails her findings, it is detailed and simple to understand, however i think a phone call to follow up the email would be very useful in addition to the email.

try to get survey done abit quicker because some estate agents are very funny, they accept offer if survey is carried out first. The market is very tough.

Remortgaging.

Kam listened and asked relevant questions to ennsure she understood my needs. She then explained the most appropriate products suitable for me and didnt rush me to make a decision. She helped offered to photocopy and certify certain documents for me which was a great help.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, I got the outcome I wanted in the end. Our first mortgage offer was turned down at the last minute which I was not happy about as they had asked for a million and one documents/details which we were able to supply then at the end told us we were unsuccessful. Kam then searched for another product for us which she successfully achieved and which went through smoothly.

What could they have done better?

It did seem like Kam had bent over backwards to do the best she could for us so I am not sure what I could suggest she do better. Maybe she could have had an inkling in how the first mortgage provider worked and made us avoid all the hassle in applying with them but then that might be asking too much!!

The introduction of Auto Enrolment.

At very short notice (less than 8 weeks) before we were due to start workplace pensions we contacted Kam Bains to help find a company that complied with auto enrolment legislation. Once we were given options, Kam went through all the stages including assisting with the set-up so that we could comply and meet the start date.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, there were some problems in setting up the workplace pension, Kam liaised with the Pensions Privder and our Accounts Dept to ensure a smooth start.

What could they have done better?

Nothing, she was well organised, set a realistic time table to enable us to meet the auto enrolment start date and made sure that from her side and our side that stuck to the timetable, we did need prompting since we did not give this matter the priority it deserved.
