Nigel has helped me consolidate my pensions and move them to better performing schemes. We wanted to retire but didn't think we could afford to do so before state pension age.

Both my husband and I were able to retire much earlier than we thought, and did so within a year of first seeing Nigel. Although there are ongoing fees, we are still better off financially than we would be without his advice. He is very friendly, never makes us feel stupid, and patiently answers our questions and takes time to explain things. He makes the paperwork simple, with tabs indicating where we need to sign. He isn't pushy, and there was no 'hard sell' - just good, sound advice. He even visits us at home.

Following my husband's recent health issues, we wanted to put our finances on a sound footing in case he needed to take ill-health retirement in the next few years.

How has Nigel Porritt helped you?

Nigel undertook a detailed review of our household income, savings, pensions and investments. He showed good understanding and sensitivity towards the situation we were in. As I had a lot of diverse funds, private pensions and investments, Nigel helped to rationalise these so I now have one pension invested into stronger funds, plus an ISA and an OEIC. My husband has a good occupational pension and structured savings plan so these were left as they were. He was also able to provide cash flow models for various scenarios which enabled us to see how our savings might grow or be drawn upon at various times over the years to maintain our standard of living. Everything was well explained, sometimes more than once (!) and we were impressed with Nigel's level of knowledge.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

It is early days, but we believe that our savings and investments will see better growth. We are pleased to have rationalised our finances. We have greater peace of mind that our savings will sustain us when we need them to, largely because of the level of service provided by Nigel.

Nigel was more thorough than nay other financial adviser that I've had, so I'm not sure what he could have done better.

Nigel reviewed the pensions and advised me I could take 25% tax free cash at age 55, this was used to buy a property as I was renting at the time. Put a plan together to make sure the mortgage would be cleared in retirement and I could retire comfortably.

Yes, I am not paying rent anymore and the plan we've got should allow me to retire comfortably.
