10 years ago, as a CEO of a large organisation I needed the best pension and investments advice for the company. Separately and independently I needed personal pensions, financial planning and savings/investments advice.

Professionally, the organisation I led benefitted from top quality and financially beneficial pensions advice. Platinum Finance was the company recommended by my Union - Nipsa. I had a small inheritance from my mother and required advice on how to best invest it.

Jonathan has helped both myself, and my husband. Just before my husband retired, he spoke to Jonathan and Alan about his options going forward .

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We have been delighted with the outcome. My husband has been able to drawdown an income which has far surpassed his occupational pension and thanks to Jonathan’s excellent investment plans , which are reviewed on a regular basis, we have been able to use a percentage of his monies to modernise our property and enjoy some fantastic holidays.

I really don’t think there is anything they could have done better. We have been regularly updated on our investments and the admin staff have always been courteous and helpful.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I first met Jonathan several years before I retired for inheritance tax advice and when I did retire he advised me about investing my lump sum and organising my pension. When I sold a property, again he gave me advice about investments and how to top up my monthly pension income.

How has Jonathan Scott helped you?

Jonathan took time to explain everything and he was able to be contacted if I needed advice. He showed an interest in my situation and I never felt he was rushing me or that I was wasting his time! I felt happy that he reviewed my investments annually and was prepared to change course if a better deal was apparent. In the ten years that he has been advising me, he has given me excellent advice.

Yes! I feel that we've built up a trust and that Jonathan understands my attitude to my financial situation and my reluctance to take too many risks at this stage of my life.

The products invested in have produced good outcomes. Gains have not been achieved in the short term but rather the longer term. Jonathan helped us to understand that there are finacial ups and downs and we have come to trust his guidance.

It is hard to find a suggestion for improvement. Jonathan is very patient and gives us plenty of time to think over his proposals. We are not to be rushed and he is wise enough to know this.

From the moment that I first met with Jonathan he outlined all my options in relation to a fixed or variable interest rate mortgage. Once we had decided on our mortgage provider Jonathan walked us through the process and answered any queries we had in an easy to understand manner. From start to finish we were also able to rely on Jonathan to respond swiftly to any queries we had. Both Jonathan and his team were excellent and made, what can be a daunting process, seamless.

Jonathan provides a service for the Ulster Teachers' Union members, who are approaching retirement age. The presentation given in various venues around the province is well-structured and informative and provides a wealth of information to our members, many of whom have not fully considered the financial implications of retirement . We receive very positive feedback from attendees.

Jonathan is brilliant, he is very patient and is willing to investigate any aspect of any enquiry you make with him, he made me feel confident that I can trust him. he understood that I was nervous about my pension enquiry and he explained all to me to make it easy for me to understand. he sorted my and my partners mortgage for us, he kept an eye on when was the best time to change and what was the best deal for us to take, this was greatly appreciated. I have been with Platinum for a considerable length of time, from my first mortgage, in 1995.

maybe he would consider to do something for women groups, there is many out there who are not confident to ask for help from someone so experienced.
