What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

For a number of years I had managed my finances. I had spread my savings over a number of high interest fixed rate bonds. At some point high interest rates collapsed and I began to invest on my own behalf. At a later time I had further money to work with and I decided that I needed professional financial help. I approached a financial adviser in Paisley. I felt that this particular individual did not have the professional approach that I was looking for. I contacted Affluent Financial planning and I was immediately impressed by the friendly but professional approach of Mr Melvin.

How has Carl Melvin helped you?

My immediate family has some unique issues that can impact on the financial well being of my wife and I together with the larger family. Mr Melvin has taken to address these matters at some length with me and offered sensible advice where appropriate. I have been a client of Affluent Financial Planning since 2015. Throughout this time I have received a helpful and professional experience from Mr Melvin and the entire team. It has been my experience that Mr Melvin is very thorough and has helped me in many ways to help secure a sound financial future for me. At our first meeting Carl was very helpful in reviewing my pension options. He was open and honest and gave me a clear indication of what his services entail and would cost for a full financial review and plan for myself and my wife. He was very fair in advising that at this current time it was probably not appropriate to engage with him further (i.e. become a customer) at this stage. Furthermore, based on the information I provided during our conversation he provided, free of charge, very helpful interim advice which I will be sure to follow up on.
