Peter Godsell was one of a few financial experts recommended by Pension Wise. After reading the reviews online I had no hesitation about choosing Peter. I had many small pension pots some money purchase schemes and others final salary with defined benefits and I needed someone I could trust to guide me with impartial advice.
How has Peter Godsell helped you?
Peter was able to explain clearly what my pension pots were and he gathered the information from me and within a relatively short time he was able to get the information I’d been struggling with for many months.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
As a result of knowing what the state of my finances would look like, I’m in the process of making decisions about how best to invest and ensure that my finances are aligned with my financial needs.

My pension with Royal London was coming to fruition and Royal London suggested I might wish to take financial advice on how to manager my pension further. Crystal Wealth was recommended in that advice.

1.Mr Godsell advised on how to maximise my pension earning before my retirement in approximately 18 months time. 2. I had money sitting in a deposit account and he advised me to use £20000 on an investment ISA before the end of the tax year.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
My pension appears to be doing well - yes to date.
What could they have done better?
Prior to Mr Godsell, I was with another financial adviser. Mr Godsell and his team have been much more informative than my previous advisers. Mr Godsell is very personable, as is his secretary, Jo Pople; they appear much more interested in my financial outcomes than my previous financial adviser. Therefore, there is nothing at this point would warrant any improvement on my behalf.

I was divorced in 2012 and Financial Adviser to guide me with regard to pension and investments

Peter helped me by giving advice following my divorce settlement on the best pension in which to transfer my funds and he gave me advice on where to invest finances from the sale of the marital house into savings accounts and eventually once I had purchased my own property he suggested I invest a lump sum into a Stocks and Shares ISA. He has kept in regular contact with me to ensure that I am happy with the investments. Recently he has helped me to plan following the decease of both of my parents.

Yes - I am very pleased
What could they have done better?
I would welcome less paperwork with numerous tables produced by the various fund providers. However, I am not sure whether Peter has any influence over this.

We own a business and Pete has been our Financial Adviser for many years now.

Pete will help with any queries we have had regarding the auto enrolment, which caused many issues at it's inception, which Pete was able to assist with. He also runs our pensions and protection insurance etc and regularly meets up with us to impart new information and just check we are happy with the current situation.

Periodic reviews have taken place and and these have been helpful in guiding my decision making. It is now almost 30 years since I retired and needed financial advice. Peter Godsell and his staff have invariably been helpful and kept me informed at regular intervals. I had a few private pension plans and needed to consolidate them also increase monthly payments.
How has Peter Godsell helped you?
Peter thoroughly went through all my current assets/accounts to see if their was anything else that would assist me as and when I retired also Peter re-arranged certain pensions i had so that they were all finally with one provider.

As i am semi retired i have not taken any of my pension pot yet but the prospects look pretty good.

There is nothing Peter could have done better as he was very thorough in the first instance and covered all items relevant.

Peter helped me consolidate & transfer my company pensions into a more accessible plan. He also reviewed my overall finances and advised the best options for general investments.

The initial gains were promising, unfortunately due to Covid 19 Pandemic, investments have been hit badly. Hopefully as I am looking for long term investment things will recover accordingly
What could they have done better?
As this was my first attempt to seek professional financial advice Peter was able to cover all my initial questions. I did not feel under any obligation or pressure to accept his advice & felt more that comfortable to allow him to handle my investments. To this end I am not aware of anything he could of done better.

Coming up to retirement, I needed to fully understand my options.
How has Peter Godsell helped you?
Peter listened to what I wanted to achieve with regard to future finances and recommended the best options for my savings and pensions. The only reason I haven't given Peter a five star on value for money is that I haven't bothered to check the charges against other options as I am very satisfied with the service and advice I am receiving so if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Yes. Through some challenging times, our savings have been well looked after.
What could they have done better?
Well, you could always say a better return on investments but these are very challenging times.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?
My pension 'pot' was invested elsewhere and I was advised that there were insufficient funds to grant the guaranteed pension plus allow a tax free element. This was of no use to me so sought independent advice
How has Peter Godsell helped you?
Peter took the existing plan and set it on a platform which meant I could take a lump sum tax free, plus also allow it to be left tax free in the event of my demise to my dependant. It was a far more suitable solution that the one I had, plus also managed to obtain a significant uplift due to delays from the previous provider.

Unquestionably.
