My portfolio was highly concentrated and self managed and as part of planning for retirement I wanted to diversify the portfolio and to move to discretionary management. I was recommended Brewin Dolphin which is how I met Alex

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Following an awarded compensation settlement, we felt it important to invest our money in the hope of greater returns over a long-term period to plan for our and our children's future.

How has Alex Pearce helped you?

Alex has provided exceptional support and guidance in managing our finances. He has made himself available in several ways, most importantly to us in person which has given a personal touch to the service. Being new to investing, Alex has given us greater confidence in understanding where money will be invested and how it is distributed. Alex has shown a great depth of knowledge when providing honest, open suggestions on maximizing the investments. Since Alex was appointed our financial advisor , we have received regular detailed updates while guiding us through the process of investing.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Initially, the investments saw substantial growth over a short period, however, due to unforeseen worldwide circumstances (pandemic, wars) the rate of growth has not continued at its intended trajectory. This is however a long-term investment process, whereby careful and well-managed investing can regain momentum and provide rewarding returns.

What could they have done better?

At this time I am happy with the service and do not have any recommendations to improve at this time

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I retired following the sale of a company and needed financial advice to help us plan for our future and manage our investments.

How has Alex Pearce helped you?

Alex helped us to understand our financial position and what our investments could generate for us in the future. We discussed the risks, benefits, contingencies and our immediate requirements so we could make informed decisions about how much to invest, how much to retain as cash and the various ways in which our investments could be structured to meet our short and long-term needs. We also discussed how we might provide for our children both in the short term and in the long term, we also discussed the tax implications and how to manage these.

We're very happy with the advice we've been given - we have been able to invest in our future, help our children financially and realise some short term goals such as buying a new home.
