Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes - not only were they able to help us in the first place when others said no, they have successfully moved our Mortgage some two years later to an alternative product which saved us over £300 per month. Not only this, they were pro-active by contacting us to explain how they could help. Really first class, professional service and very much appreciated too.

What could they have done better?

Absolutely nothing.

Young and inexperienced when first married sought advise on insurance and mortgages.

have known Andrew for many years, and his father before that. They have been our family financial advisor since 1972. We have introduced many family members and friends over the years to both Andrew and Piers, and would not have done so if we had not the fullest of confidence in their integrity, honesty and professional ability. Andrew is personable and takes a personal interest in every aspect of our family thus ensuring that we receive the very best current advice possible. He is supported by Kerren Scales, who also provides excellent support and advice when needed. Together they make an excellent team and able to give that very personal touch other larger financial institutions cannot emulate. The continuity over the past 50 years has been the bedrock of this family business.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We were in the process of downsizing our property and decided there was an opportunity to look at our whole investment strategy, buy to let portfolio, savings, life assurances and pensions.

How has Andrew Parmenter helped you?

Andrew provided us with help and guidance from sourcing good mortgage deals for our buy to let portfolio, assessing our life cover and more recently looking at our whole investment and pension strategy and taking time to help us put this into order. Andrew also helped a landlord client with a long term health care package for his elderly mother.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We now feel that we have a grasp of our investments and a better understanding of how our money can work for us. It's also refreshing to know our life assurances are in place and family is protected should anything happen.

I needed advice with investments to give my wife and I a retirement income.

Andrew did not put us under any pressure, he explained everything clearly, and was very patient when I needed things repeated.This is the first time we needed help with investments, and we are so pleased we chose Andrew.

We were very satisfied with all of Andrews recommendations, and we have peace of mind, and a regular income. We could not have done this on our own.

I had retired with a variety of 'pots' from various employers. Andrew worked hard to understand our needs, made sound proposals for investment and administered the transfers. For us it was easy and worry free; Andrew communicated well throughout.

Andrew agreed to meet us to discuss IHT insurance, although he was doubtful that there was a solution that would satisfy our requirements. He explained the options, and prepared a scenario to demonstrate the effect. We really appreciated Andrew’s time, although we also concluded follow-up meetings were not necessary.

How has Andrew Parmenter helped you?

Andrew replies to emails promptly, either in person or via his PA if he is out of the office. He is prepared to do a home visit, even though we are in Yorkshire and he is on the South Coast (I think). He sends a newsletter periodically on topical subjects, and review the portfolio with a letter once a year. Between reviews he is happy to be questioned about the current state, and whether anything need improving.

What could they have done better?

Perhaps a once a year personal phone call, even if there isn't anything important to discuss would make us feel he remembered who we are - I'm sure he does, but some years can go by without hearing from him in person, rather than letters.

I have trusted my financial planning with Andrew since the second mortgage I took out in my early 20s. As a young person at that time the world of mortgage advisors seemed full of those linked to companies but promising that they were independent. Andrew was very different and extremely ethical in his approach. Friendly and down to earth practical advice and very knowledgeable and experienced in what he does. Has always given me excellent advice and made stressful times very easy. Andrew is trustworthy and provides good value for money in the services he provides.

There is very little I can suggest but if pushed to do so I would suggest consideration to giving timescales/deadlines for work and services requested

Andrew provides clear concise advise evaluating individual circumstances asking probing questions where applicable/appropriate. Client terms, conditions, and costs are clearly explained beforehand which ensures that there are no surprises. Regular (yearly in my case) review of investments and future planning are essential parts of the service and removes that immediate burden (also consolidates information from the various sources that are not within Andrew's immediate scope (e.g. Company pension information, etc.). Andrew is flexible in fitting clients needs in the modern world (face-to-face, phone, email, web where these are appropriate). Responses to e-communication are quick, concise and include the relevant information to ensure effective resolution.

Andrew had provided me with sound financial advice over the years. I have been given twice annual financial reports which have provided clear investment valuations showing how each investment has performed since purchase to the present day value. He has always responded immediately to all my enquires whether by post or telephone. More recently I get almost instant reply by E mail. He has been most helpful to my late requests for ISA investments at the end of the financial year. He has also made several home visits over the years between every two to four years depending on my changing financial situation.

Always responsive with any out of course requests made, nowadays more about the sensible release of accrued funds. This is in order to purchase items, or spend on goals with regards to the remaining funds and their future potential performance, after said requested withdrawals have been exacted. Having started my financial guidance with Andrew's father Piers, continual historical linkage to the family has encouraged me over time, to place my trust in Andrerw and his team's advice.

What could they have done better?

As far as my current needs go, being retired some 12 plus years now, I cannot really feel desirous of any additional needs that need cateing for. However, I am confident that any queries I have regarding my financial holdings/investments in general, will be, as in the past, answered expediently and positively.

Andrew Parmenter never pushes you into anything you're unsure about. Approximately twelve years ago he advised me to take out critical health cover as i was self employed. Two years later I was diagnosed with a cancer which thankfully was caught at the early stages. The Payout from the insurance company Andrew recommend was in full and extremely quick. I have had to take early retirement now with another medical condition and have had to change my plans several times as to what type of Pension option would be most appropriate. I was planning to move abroad initially, but now my wife would prefer us to remain in the united kingdom. Consequently Andrew's advice was most valuable, particularly on taxation issues. Andrew seemed to take my frequently changing plans in his stride and any urgent advice I needed was always answered by email within 48hrs to my full satisfaction.

Minimal cost for financial advice and and purchase of investments.
