What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I met Darren when he was working for Bank of Scotland before he was freelance and as a freelance adviser he could offer a much broader range of investments in the portfolio. These have grown steadily in value during the period of over a decade as my financial adviser.

I had some spare income and I self invested but didn't understand what I was doing really.

How has Darren Pickersgill helped you?

Darren has helped me sort out savings plan, with comfortable spare income - we invest widely in areas and funds that match what risks I am happy to take. We have also used lump sums to fund ISA's each year. He reviews these and my personal situation each year to ensure my plans are dong what I want them to.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, and more really. Using his knowledge and fund mix have performed better that I feel I could have done. Also the ongoing service we have each year, around the same time means we never miss the opportunity to fill my ISA each year and also review the funds/performance of what was set up.

nothing, everything has worked well.

I have used a financial advisor for the past 25 years following sale of a property and the need to wisely invest the funds.

Darren reviewed my investments, including an offshore one which had been disappointing and with high charges. The investments were mostly on the advice of a previous advisor.

The outcome has exceeded my expectations, and very much match my optimism with respect to the level of risk chosen versus the anticipated gain.

I needed financial advice following my retirement and at a later date with an inheritance. At times I have needed access to some of my investments and Darren has advised on the best way to secure this.

How has Darren Pickersgill helped you?

He has advised on appropriate investments taking into account my attitude towards risk. He has advised on the most appropriate manner of securing access to some of my capital when needed. He has monitored my investments and suggested changes to platforms and always taken into account charges as well as the performance of my investments.

Indeed I have. I consider my investments have done well and increased pleasingly, but also held their own in difficult financial markets.

That is a difficult question and I really don't know how to answer it. As far as my experience goes Darren has done his upmost to protect and improve my financial position.

Getting proper advice and making sure my various pensions and investments were working effectively was always something I had put off! After some major life events I decided I needed to take action. I contacted Darren after a recommendation from a friend.

How has Darren Pickersgill helped you?

Darren gave me the confidence that, generally, I had been doing the right things, but could advise on how to make the most of a lump sum from a property sale. Without his knowledge and experience I would not have had the confidence to invest such a sum.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Wanted to invest some money I inherited to get the best interest rates and safest investment for me, so that I had something for the future and retirement

How has Darren Pickersgill helped you?

Darren looked for the best and safest way for me to invest my money, giving me and explaining to me how the investment worked and the choice of the sort of investment I wanted to make . Darren explains things well and never makes you feel like you are asking a silly question as he is very approachable and is always eager to help in any way he can

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Early days yet but already can see a some interest on my investment

What could they have done better?

Cannot think at this stage what else could have been done better

I returned to the UK from New Zealand with money from the sale of my house there.

How has Darren Pickersgill helped you?

Darren was then employed as a financial adviser for the Halifax Bank/Bank of Scotland where I had invested my capital and he advised me to diversify my investments in a small portfolio

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, indeed. Having left the Halifax Bank/Bank of Scotland employment, Darren advised me to spread my capital over a larger portfolio of investments. The value of this portfolio has grown steadily over the decade that he has been advising me.

What could they have done better?

I can't think of any improvement in the service that Darren has provided. Excellent at all times.

Darren has been my financial adviser for a number of years and my latest meeting with him was an annual review, which is always welcome.

How has Darren Pickersgill helped you?

Darren provided sound advice and recommendations about pension plans that I currently hold and my investment portfolio. I shall be following his recommendations.

Darren's advice and recommendations in the past have always delivered. I could not ask for more.

What could they have done better?

Darren has many strengths but, sadly, his choice of football team is not one of them. At one of our meetings in the future I do hope to guide him away from Bradford City and onto the true path of Leeds United!
