Took longer than expected to get to speak to him. I wanted advice about inheritance tax but he said I needed to have a will drawn up by a solicitor first before he could advise me. He referred me to a solicitor contact he knew. So I guess I didnt receive the service I was expecting. Nevertheless he was professional and knowledgeable.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had initially seen to previous Financial Advisors who had been unable to assist me with unlocking a particular pension that included a considerable tax-free percentage.

How has Neal Hall helped you?

Neal was able to ably navigate through the red tape and turgid hoops required by AEGON, enabling a swift conclusion and enabling me to secure an uncommon tax-free percentage. He kept me thoroughly informed throughout the process.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Indeed, with Neal's assistance I successfully managed to release my funds with the best possible outcome from a taxation point of view, something I was beginning to feel might not be possible.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. I can heartily recommend Neal. I found him highly professional, polite but friendly and very knowledgeable about aspects of pension law that can be not only unclear but very frustrating to the client.

Neal went through my financial affairs very carefully. He advised me that everything I was currently doing was correct. He gave some useful advice on a couple of matters. He put me in touch with a business associate who might be able to do some specialized work for me. He pointed out some more complex ideas for me to consider, but I need not want to proceed with these. All this for an initial consultation which was FOC. Brilliant! Alan

We went for some very specific advice and he was quite knowledgable but didn't know the answer to our specific query though he did give some other helpful advice.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had just become self employed (via my own limited company) and therefore no longer had a workplace pension. I was looking to start my own private pension, through my company, and also take out life insurance. I also needed general financial advice.

How has Neal Hall helped you?

Neal was fantastic - explaining clearly and precisely exactly what I needed to do and offering a range of different product options at varying levels of potential risk and reward.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I definitely have. I now have a pension that is growing nicely and slowly building towards retirement, along with my former workplace pension and state pension (both of which Neal keeps an eye on for me). I also have good life insurance at a level to protect my family. Neal is always available on the phone and email and we meet annually to review my products. I highly recommend.

What could they have done better?

As I had a set need - a pension, life insurance and general advice - which is been fulfilled in an informative and friendly manner, there's little I think Neal could have done better.

I was looking to consolidate a number of Private Pension Plans and get advice and guidance on current and future investment options.

How has Neal Hall helped you?

Following a personal introduction from another happy client, I spoke with Neal Hall and explained my requirements. During our first meeting we explored my options, with Neal outlining consolidation and investment opportunities, associated risks and exact timelines. Neal took the time to explain all in great detail and documented everything we discussed so I could carefully consider my options before making any decisions. First saw Neal in March 2014 to look at retirement planning for my wife.

How has Neal Hall helped you?

Neal re invested my wife's pension fund, advised on inheritance tax and over the last 4 years has always been available for advice and queries.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

My wife has been able to withdraw a tax free sum each year which the funds have 'made up' each year. Although I do not normally make recommendations in financial matters, I have recommended Neal to friends and family and I believe they also are very pleased with his advice. My wife is certainly achieving the results she required as her state pension was put on hold for 6 years by government policy.

What could they have done better?

Thinking very hard about this question I still come up with nothing.

Very professional. Very nice office in Winchmore Hill. Clear in his explanations of my choices (I went there for Pensions Advice). No obligation meeting during which he spent an hour outlining options I could make. There was no pressure whatsoever to make any decisions on the day. It's up to me whether I get back to him or not ....

Neal contacted me promptly and we were able to setup an initial meeting quickly. This meeting was useful in giving me an introduction into what he can do to help resolve some pension transfer issues that I have. Fees were clearly explained as well as the pension cost savings I can make. Although it is still early stage of the process I have decided to engage Neal’s services so that I have steadier, more cost effective investment.

Neal joined the company of financial advisers I had used for many years, a company I joined when I had little to invest. Over the years that investment pot grew but the company I was with did not change there advice or increase reviews from an annual 'quick chat'. Neal joined that firm and was my adviser for a couple of years and changed dramatically how my investments were managed. Regular contact when necessary, increased spread and in depth discussion about market opportunities within our accepted level of risk has given us a level of growth that we are very pleased with and a portfolio that is far more robust against market change. I have known Neal for ten years now. I am a British citizen based in New York and I own a number of rental properties in London so needed a financial advisor who had specialist knowledge in dealing with international clients. The first time I spoke to Neal I was impressed by his professionalism, his ability to build relations and his flexibility to tailor his services around my needs. I found one of Neal's key strengths to be his extensive knowledge of financial services Neal is professional, knowledgeable and always displays a confident, positive and enthusiastic attitude to all aspects of his position, which inevitably has influenced my understanding of my own financial affairs.
