I phoned Paul's financial planning company (Stratagem Financial Planning) requesting help (message left on company answerphone) and Paul responded within the hour. He listened to all I had to say giving me an unrushed full hour of his time which I really appreciated. Subsequent meetings were set up following an exchange of information. After building a relationship over approx 6 months, I asked Paul to become my financial advisor. He looked in depth at my situation and presented bespoke advice specific to my current and future requirements. It was a holistic approach that went further than just pension advice but included all assets types - e.g. home (mortgage), savings, savings plans and retirement planning and considering the depth of his knowledge and advice, I thought his fees were extremely reasonable. All of my immediate family have also become clients as well, as a result of his help and advice.

I contacted Paul when I was coming close to retirement age for advice on achieving the best income from my private pensions, and whether they would allow me to retire early.

Having assessed my attitude to risk and collated all the figures from my various private work pensions and my state pension he gave me a number of scenarios to consider and we had a meeting to enable him to explain to me what each meant, as I had no understanding of financial services and pensions.

I have indeed and some extra comfort. I am now retired six months early and know I have enough money to meet my bills with a disposable income for the fun things too. I also have a drawdown fund for those unexpected extras.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had multiple (over 10) pensions through various companies, private and FSAVC's which I wasn't sure were making good money, should be consolidated, what the overall end result, pensionable pot / pension, would be. I also had no insurance and yet I'm the main income within the family.

How has Paul Lindfield helped you?

Paul has helped me by spending time listening and clearly highlighting all of the information I needed to obtain and that in order for Paul to obtain all I needed to do was simply fill in some consent forms so I had no work to do. Once obtained all of this information was analysed and I was requested in to attend a meeting where Paul clearly and methodically discussed all the findings and recommendations. Other than 3 meeting, one was a consent signing meeting, I had no 'work' to do, Paul did it all.
