What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We have been with Throgmorton for some time now and have contacted the previous adviser and now Jim for any help we may need. We initially needed advise on pensions.

How has Jim Anderson helped you?

Jim has helped us immensely, he is very polite and carries his responsibility in a very professional manner. He has helped us with investment, pension etc

Yes we have and hopefully will see more of the same in the future.

Jim set up my ISA for a house deposit for my children. He also helped me amalgamate my pensions from previous jobs so they were all in one policy and easier to maintain. He is very helpful and available to explain the finer details in plain English. As someone who was previously financially illiterate, I now feel my financial plans are in line with my goals for retirement and making sure my children have a better start in life when they leave home.

How has Jim Anderson helped you?

Jim explained how my portfolio would produce results to maintain my income and the best way to gain the most out of my investments in what has been a difficult time for everyone and always has his eye on the "ball" in spite of the world economy and the cost of living. He's always ready to explain issues causing me to be concerned and will make sure I understand what he has told me. Not minding if he has to repeat himself has a very patient and sympathetic nature.

With the difficulties in the country and the rising cost of living. I still managed to maintain my portfolio as it stood and raise my funding.

A confident discussion with plenty of advice and tips. Since we placed the pension money into his care he has continued to offer advice moving the money to obtain a better return or to a safer place. Jim is always on the other end of the phone when required.

For advice in my pensions and other investments. I felt that they were too scattered and wanted to streamline, I also wanted everything to be invested in Greener and more conscientious environmentally friendly funds.

How has Jim Anderson helped you?

He helped me to understand how platforms work, ie all my pensions, Isa’s etc could all be under one umbrella. He then recommended a platform, Elevate, that he thought would suit me.

In terms of the platform that I’ve moved my pension etc to and the type of funds being invested in I can say that it is so far a good outcome. Due to the short amount of time since the transfers and the Covid virus I can’t comment on investment performance yet.

I think my advisor was great and couldn’t have done anything more.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I did not want to take an annuity with my pension pot and so opted for a company that would manage my money to get the best return within certain financial parameters.

How has Jim Anderson helped you?

Jim was very personable and straight forward and my wife and I had a good meeting with him at his office. Explanations were clear, discussion was easy and our more difficult questions and reservations were answered to our satisfaction.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We are in our third year of investing. Year one we cleared set-up charger and put a small amount of growth in our investment. Year two went really well and at the end of the year Jim suggested a few portfolio changes which after thought, we agree too. Year three and we have seen our portfolio diminish but due to the growth in year two and the changes suggested by Jim, these have proven a good cushion.

What could they have done better?

Being relatively new to this game, I do not honestly know what Jim could have done differently. He has even offered to come to our house if we did not want to go to London to review our portfolio. So five stars Jim!
