Since the 1980's Bill has advised me and my family on mortgages, investments and general financial advice. I am now diversifying my investments from property to "cash" investments and Bill is helping with this transfer.

Optimised my pension via a drawdown arrangement to provide me with an income which allows me to live comfortably. This I could not have done without his advice. Bill has gone beyond his remit and given advice freely to my family over financing care for my Mum, for which we are extremely grateful.

He took time to understand me and my family’s needs. He took a long term view as well as a short term view of our needs. Having put our mortgage onto ‘interest only’, we were going to have a shortfall at the end of our mortgage term. We needed someone to assist and identify what, if any, options were available to us.

How has Bill Ward helped you?

Bill was able to simply and clearly explain what was (and wasn’t) potentially available to us. He managed our expectations and identified a colleague who would be best placed to assist us whilst still being available himself for any advice should we require it. His colleague proved to be a diamond who went the extra mile to assist us in a professional manner. At the end of the process this person felt more like a friend than a financial adviser.

With Bill’s help we were able to come to a most satisfactory conclusion which surpassed our expectations. We couldn’t be more delighted with how things have panned out.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had been meaning to review my finances for sometime but procrastinated until I was confident in finding a quality Advisor. I was approaching 60 and had no understanding of the value of my pensions nor a full appreciation of the options open to me as a result of recent changes in pension legislation. Choices and decisions to be made were not simple. By good fortune, Bill was recommended to me by two work colleagues who were already clients of his.

Bill helped me in numerous ways; 1) He made the whole process very easy and he instilled a real confidence in me with his approach and exemplary knowledge of the 'Financial World' 2) He was able to determine the value of my pensions from the various providers and spent time to ensure I was fully conversant with all options and varying levels of risk open to me. Bill has a great way of making even the most complicated financial concepts understandable. 3) He advised a course of action that not only gave me greater flexibility as to when I could initiate my retirement but also left me in a stronger financial situation. 4) The arrival of Covid resulted new unforeseen uncertainties with regard to my pension fund. His advice and reassurance through this time was invaluable.

My expectations have been exceeded significantly. Through Bill's advice I was able to retire earlier than expected and feel that I am in a much stronger financial position.
