What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I needed advice on a Company pension scheme.

How has Alan Hodgson helped you?

He reviewed the current scheme and an old frozen scheme and put forward a proposal to combine the two together to a scheme that had higher returns than the current schemes. He also asked if we needed help with mortgage reviews and insurances and managed to get us a great deal on house and contents insurance and a fixed rate deal that is exactly what we wanted. He did advise us that we could get a better deal if we didn't fix for the length of time we wanted, but we wanted the security of knowing exactly what we would be paying for a longer period of time.

Absolutely .

What could they have done better?

To be honest I am not sure what else he could have done.

It is too early to see the outcome as the transfer process only completed a few months ago, and this is a mid-long term investment.

Under the current restrictions and circumstances, both Alan and his team performed very well.

Alan was very professional with helping us to invest our Lump Sum, Alan took his time to find Investments that where right for us. He also advises us on all our financial assets including rental properties. Very nice Man to deal with, would fully Recommend.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was initially looking for some expertise to help with my health insurance renewal, Alan helped me find an improved health insurance than the one I had previously.

How has Alan Hodgson helped you?

During our conversations around health insurance I mentioned that I was looking into a private pension of which I knew very little about, Alan was able to give me guidance on the best pensions available in the market for myself and my family. I was very grateful to Alan for not only setting this up for me but also to gain a much better understanding on how this works, he has fantastic knowledge in this area and a great ability to explain what I felt was a complex topic in simple language I understood.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes with the health insurance but also my private pension, especially knowing a lot more information on how much income I will likely have when I come to retire.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My financial situation changed dramatically in March due to the outbreak of Covid. I knew I had pensions but need to get access to some of the funds which I could not do in their current state.

How has Alan Hodgson helped you?

Alan was able to help me bring all my pensions together under one umbrella and having chosen to put them into a drawdown pension was able to release my 25% tax free sum. This has enabled me to get through a very difficult period with very little income coming in.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes it all went perfectly and I am happy that if the occasion arises again that I need access to funds I can do so through my drawdown pension.

What could they have done better?

Alan was great and kept me informed of the progress of the administration as it went along. If ever I required an update he was quick to respond. I would thoroughly recommend him to friends and colleagues.

I was thinking of retiring & needed some specialist advice, I asked my cousin (an accountant) if she knew anybody who could help explain drawdown pensions, and she gave me Alan’s number.
