I was being charged for uncompleted services and in addition over-charged by my former financial advisors. My old advisors were not fulfilling their contractual duties and their costs were high. Upon my dissatisfaction I sought advice from Mr Stealey and other local financial advisors. I transferred my portfolio to Mr Stealey who satisfied my future needs with a fee structure that is very competitive.

Mr Stealey provided guidance, advice on my legal rights under financial authority rules and regulations. His help recuperate a large percentage of fees from my old advisors. In addition, Mr Stealey's fee structure is very competitive saving me considerably on annual fees and costs.

When we took over Power of Attorney for my parents, we needed to understand how best to utilise their savings to provide a monthly income in addition to pensions to pay for nursing home fees, first for my father and then for my mother.

How has David Stealey helped you?

We had several meetings with David to understand the role of a financial advisor and discuss our options. After appointing David to act, he has rearranged the various investments and savings, moving them from legacy investments to actively managed investments. David has also provided advice on inheritance tax planning.

David asked good questions to understand what I want to get out of life, and also understand my attitude to risk. With this information he has set up a consolidated pot which is performing well, and also gave me very good advice with regard to the prospect of transfering a defined Benefit Pension.

I had various pensions that I believed to be underperforming and with expensive charges. I had been meaning to look into acting on it for quite a while and looked at VouchedFor to find someone highly recommended.

How has David Stealey helped you?

David first rang me and extracted as much information from me as possible, to enable him to know my circumstances and wishes. As this was in the middle of the first Covid lockdown, we then had a couple of Zoom meeting where he had put together a plan and could show me this through a presentation and explained everything. He was very understanding in having to go over things repeatedly as I either didn't understand or had forgotten. Pensions are very confusing but David was great at explaining in lay-mans terms for me.

I am very happy with what David has done for me, but obviously it is far too early to see the full benefits.

With impending retirement, I needed to understand relatively complex pension consolidation options, with a view to receiving sustainable and tax-efficient income in retirement. This applied to both myself and my wife. Larger organisations had wasted lots of my time without producing anything of merit; several had wasted my monies on poor investments. I was looking for someone who wanted to work with and for me - in my interests.

How has David Stealey helped you?

David took on board my needs quickly and efficiently. He came up with outline options and models to inform my decision-making process, and re-assured me on past and current performance of his recommended paths. He has guided and managed the consolidation and re-investment of 10+ pension and investment pots - and we are now receiving our target tax-efficient incomes.

Was facing constant roadblocks to accessing multiple pension pots in order to transfer them into one place & was panicking; I thought I could do it myself but i couldnt. David reassured me that it was possible and guided me professionally through my options and took over managing the whole process. Despite complications, David successfully chased them all down and i realise i could never have done it without him. He took all the pain out of the process and managed it for me; he listened carefully and patiently to my problems and he resolved them with reassurance and positivity. So far the outcome has been most satisfactory but I am under on illusion that there are always bumps on the road. I am confident that David has done his best to smooth out these bumps for me.

I don't think, David and Romilly Finance could have done more. From initial contact, regular meetings, explaining the costs and answering queries promptly I have no hesitation in recommending their services, I only wish I had done it sooner.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My boyfriend and I were buying our first house. We used a high street estate agent's mortgage services and after an awful experience we were in search of someone else to help us get a mortgage and David was recommended to us by a friend.

How has David Stealey helped you?

He rang us and did the initial questions over the phone, this was really quick and he was clear with the process from then on. We then began our application for our mortgage with Katy in David's office and within 24 hours they had already made progress. Katy was on hand throughout the whole application to answer any questions we had. She was always so patient and very understanding that we were first time buyers, so she made everything simple and only a few weeks later we got our offer! Throughout the application process Katy kept us informed of everything. Their communications skills are unbelievable and we just can't thank them enough.

Yes! We got our mortgage offer and 2 weeks later we got the keys to our first home!.
